Colorado Rockies recall Chad Bettis, select Yohan Flande

Club places reliever Brooks Brown on 15-day disabled list, options infielder Rafael Ynoa

LOS ANGELES - The Colorado Rockies on Thursday recalled right-handed pitcher Chad Bettis from Triple-A Albuquerque and selected left-hander Yohan Flande from Double-A New Britain.

To make room on the 25-man roster for today's moves, the club placed right-hander Brooks Brown on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 4, due to right shoulder inflammation, optioned infielder Rafael Ynoa to Albuquerque and transferred Adam Ottavino from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

In parts of two seasons with Colorado (2013-14), Bettis, 26, has a career Major League record of 1-5 with a 6.88 ERA (69.1 IP, 53 ER) in 37 games, including eight starts. He is scheduled to be the Rockies' starting pitcher Thursday as the club opens a four-game series at Dodger Stadium. Bettis is 2-2 with a 3.97 ERA (34.0 IP, 15 ER) in six starts at Triple-A. He has struck out 26 with 10 walks.

Flande, 29, has posted a 5-0 record and 1.36 ERA in six starts at Double-A this season, allowing 27 hits and six earned runs in 39.2 innings. He has fanned 30 with four walks. From the Dominican Republic, Flande made his Major League debut last year, appearing in 16 games, including 10 starts. He was 0-6 with a 5.19 ERA (59.0 IP, 34 ER).

Brown, 29, has not pitched since May 3. He is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA (14.0 IP, 7 ER) this year. 

Ynoa, 27, has played in 19 games this season, making two starts at third base, two in left field and one at shortstop. He is hitting .241 (7-for-29) with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Ynoa is 2-for-11 with a walk in 12 pinch-hit appearances.

The Rockies have a full 40-man roster.
