Twins Recall Left-Handed Pitcher Tommy Milone

Ricky Nolasco Placed on the 15-Day Disabled List

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Tommy Milone from Triple-A Rochester. Milone, who was on the Twins Opening Day roster before being optioned May 1, made five starts for the Red Wings going 4-0 with a 0.70 ERA (38.2 IP, 3 ER), 47 strikeouts and just three walks. He was named the International League Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks from May 11-24.

To make room for Milone on the roster, the Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 1) with a right ankle impingement. Nolasco suffered the injury in his last start on May 31 vs. Toronto.

Additionally, the Twins have returned right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin to Rochester after serving as the Twins 26th man in yesterday's day/night doubleheader in Boston.
