Martinez Recalled from Round Rock; Ranaudo Optioned to Round Rock
Denver, Colorado - The Texas Rangers announced today that right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock and will start tonight's game versus the Rockies in Colorado.
To make room for Martinez on the active roster, right-handed pitcher Anthony Ranaudo has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Martinez posted a 4.50 ERA (6.0 IP/8 H/3 R-ER/1 BB/5 SO) in two shortened starts at Round Rock since he was optioned by Texas on July 2, last on July 16 at Oklahoma City (2.0 IP/4 H/2 R-ER). The right-hander is 5-5 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts with Texas this season. His last Rangers' start was a loss at Baltimore on July 1 (6.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R-3 ER).
Ranaudo has allowed 7 runs in 7.0 innings in 2 relief appearances since his recall from Round Rock on July 4, his third stint with Texas in 2015.
With today's moves, Texas' major league roster remains at 40 players.
