BOSTON, MA - In conjunction with Major League Baseball, the Red Sox today announced their 2016 regular season schedule. The club will open on the road against the Cleveland Indians on Monday, April 4. Boston's home opener is slated for Monday, April 11, against the Baltimore Orioles.

The club will open the season on the road for the sixth straight year. This will be the team's first-ever regular season opener in Cleveland, the same city in which the Red Sox will end their 2015 campaign. Boston has previously started its season against the Indians three times, all at Fenway Park, in 1962, 1977, and most recently, 1979.

The Red Sox are scheduled to play 76 games versus their American League East rivals, 19 games each against the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, and Tampa Bay Rays.

In addition to the Atlanta Braves, who visit Boston on April 27-28, Boston will face the National League West Division for Interleague play. The Colorado Rockies (May 24-26), San Francisco Giants (July 19-20), and Arizona Diamondbacks (August 12-14) will also travel to Fenway Park.

Interleague games on the road take place in Atlanta on April 25 and 26, in San Francisco on June 7 and 8, at Dodger Stadium the weekend of August 5-7, and in San Diego on September 5-7.

The Red Sox have the most number of home games in July (18) and the fewest in September (8). The club completes its regular season schedule with a three-game series against the Blue Jays in Boston from September 30-October 2.

For the third straight year, Boston plays four straight games against Atlanta in two cities. The first two games of the series take place at Turner Field from April 25-26, followed by a second pair of games at Fenway Park from April 27-28.

The Red Sox play more games at Tampa Bay's Tropicana Field and Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards (10 each) than any other road venue. Boston hosts the Yankees three times: April 29-May 1, August 9-11, and September 15-18. The club will visit Yankee Stadium May 6-8, July 15-17, and September 27-29.
