White Sox reinstate Zach Putnam from disabled list

CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Zach Putnam from the 15-day disabled list.

Putnam, 28, was placed on the disabled list on August 29 (retroactive to August 27) with a strained right groin. He is 3-3 with a 3.07 ERA (14 ER/41.0 IP) and 55 strikeouts over 41 relief appearances with the White Sox this season. Putnam ranks fifth among American League relievers with an average of 12.07 strikeouts per 9.0 IP.

Following the move, the White Sox active roster increases to 32.
