Mets and Affinity Health Plan team up in new community partnership

FLUSHING, N.Y. - Affinity Health Plan, a community-driven health plan organization, with one of the largest provider networks in the Greater New York Region, and the New York Mets are pleased to announce their new multi-year partnership.

Under this new partnership, Affinity Health Plan will receive brand and business presence at Citi Field along with specific community events and game day sponsorship opportunities. These opportunities will allow Affinity to further expand its relations with our communities and promote the benefits of primary and preventive care as the cornerstone to a strong healthcare system.

On Friday evening, September 18, 2015, when the Mets play the New York Yankees in the much anticipated Subway Series at Citi Field, Affinity Health Plan will be the presenting sponsor of Free Shirt Friday. A representative of the New York City-based health plan will also be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The Affinity table on the Field Level concourse will allow visitors to learn more on how to improve their lives through preventive care, as well as how they can access free or low cost health insurance.

"Affinity Health Plan is a community-driven and high-profile healthcare company that we are proud to affiliate with," stated Lou DePaoli, Mets Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. "Like Affinity we are a community and family oriented team and we look forward to our relationship in the years to come."

Affinity's President & CEO, Glenn A. MacFarlane, said teaming up with the New York Mets provides Affinity with a highly visible platform to connect with people across the communities that the health insurer serves.

"By leveraging the respective community strengths of both organizations, this partnership offers Affinity new and expanded opportunities to reach a broader range of customers and convey the importance of preventive health care," Mr. MacFarlane said. "Our partnership with the Mets broadens Affinity's message on the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle."
