Dodgers Reinstate Frias, Latos Designated For Assignment

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-hander Carlos Frias from the 60-day disabled list and designated right-handed pitcher Mat Latos for assignment.

Frias last pitched in a big league game on June 30 before being placed on the DL with right lower back tightness and in 14 games (12 starts) with the Dodgers this year, the 25-year-old has gone 5-5 with a 4.39 ERA. Frias posted a 4.73 ERA (7 ER/13.1 IP) in seven rehab games (three starts) with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Triple-A Oklahoma City, last pitching on Sept. 6 with OKC vs. Memphis, when he fired 2.0 scoreless innings of relief (28 pitches).

Latos went 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA in six games (five starts) with Los Angeles after being acquired on July 30 from Miami in a five-player trade.

The Dodgers continue to have 35 players on their active roster.
