Tigers Close Out Final Homestand of the Season with Fan Appreciation Weekend and Host Rival Twins at Comerica Park

DETROIT - The Tigers face the Minnesota Twins in a three-game weekend series (September 25-27), their final home series at Comerica Park in 2015. Friday's and Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:08 p.m., while Sunday's game is a 1:08 p.m. start time.

Fan Appreciation Weekend September 25-27

  • The Tigers will randomly select lucky winners in attendance throughout the weekend to win great prizes, including Tigers gear and authentic merchandise as part of Fan Appreciation Weekend, presented by Comerica Bank. The annual "Shirt Off Our Back" giveaway will return on Sunday, September 27th. Fans will be selected to win, during a postgame on-field ceremony, the actual game-worn jerseys of all the Detroit Tigers players and coaches. All prizes will be selected randomly using a computer generated system to ensure equal opportunity for ALL fans. In honor of fan appreciation, Tigers fans will receive 25% off all merchandise (does not apply to game-used products, authentics and on-field apparel). Valid at all Comerica Park retail locations including the D Shop.

Friday, September 25 vs Minnesota Twins at 7:08 p.m. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m.

  • University of Michigan Night: The Detroit Tigers along with FOX Sports Detroit are hosting the sixth and final installment of their University Days series at Comerica Park. All fans who purchased the University of Michigan ticket package will receive a Detroit Tigers baseball hat in maize and blue and a donation will be made to the University of Michigan's Pat Maloy Scholarship Fund.
  • First 5,000 fans 21-and-older will receive a Detroit Tigers Tote Bag, sponsored by Lipari/Old Tyme Deli.
  • The game ball will be delivered by Master Sergeant Kyle C. McMillian of the U.S. Army Special Forces. Master Sergeant McMillan has served 13 tours of duty to Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Afghanistan. He is a Seal Dive Supervisor, a jump master and has received three Bronze Stars, the Army Commendation Medal, DMSM2, AAM3, and the TSAM3.
  • Sanchez's Little Smiles: Through the generosity of Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez and his wife Ana, the Sanchez family invites 19 guests to attend a Tigers baseball game in a grand fashion. The special evening includes tickets to the Sanchez Family's suite, Sanchez's Little Smiles t-shirts, ballpark fare catering and photos signed by Anibal Sanchez. The participating families are selected in partnership with local charitable organizations focused on serving the needs of families faced with the challenges of caring for children with health concerns and other adversities. Sanchez's Little Smiles provides families the opportunity to escape their daily struggles and enjoy an evening together while watching Tigers baseball at Comerica Park. On September 25, families from Variety, the Children's Charity attend the game through Sanchez's Little Smiles. The guests of Sanchez's Little Smiles have the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field.
  • Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season. This weekend, the raffle will happen on Friday and Saturday. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is now the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners who share this goal. Tickets will be sold on a digital platform and are three for $5, 10 for $10 and 40 for $20. The winner will be announced on the Comerica Park scoreboard before the end of the game. The 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised more than $1,099,165.50 for charity with the single largest one-game prize of the program being $17,039.50.
  • The ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by former University of Michigan football player Jon Jansen and former University of Michigan basketball player Jalen Rose.
  • The national anthem will be performed by The Michigan G-Men, a University of Michigan A Capella group.
  • Friday Night Fireworks: presented by Pepsi (weather permitting).
  • Dunkin Donuts Exit Giveaway: Upon exit, Dunkin Donut mugs will be distributed at all gates.
  • Postgame Chevy Silverado Giveaway: Following Saturday's game, one of four lucky fans will have the awesome opportunity to win a brand new 2015 Chevy Silverado courtesy of the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Motor City Wheels Silverado Giveaway. These fans entered to win through a text-to-win feature during the in-game "Motor City Wheels Race" feature that took place during the middle of the fourth inning at every Tigers home game this season.

  • Verlander's Victory for Veterans: This season, for each Saturday home game, Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander and a Verlander's Victory for Veterans t-shirt.
  • The first 10,000 fans will receive a 2016 magnet schedule, courtesy of Dunkin Donuts.

  • The national anthem will be performed by the Lake Orion High School Chorale, winners of the Comerica Bank Stars Spangled Choir National Anthem contest.

Sunday, September 27 vs Minnesota Twins at 1:08 p.m. Gates Open at 11:30 a.m.

  • Shirt Off Our Back Ceremony: Following the game, fans randomly selected using a computer generated system to ensure equal opportunity for ALL fans, will participate in a postgame on-field ceremony and receive the actual game-worn jerseys of a Detroit Tigers player or coach. All players and coaches jerseys will be given away.
  • All kids 14-and-under will receive an Anibal Sanchez Bobblehead, courtesy of Pepsi.
  • The ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Judy Jordan, representing Total Performance Engine Oils and Tigers Fan Bill Tabazka.
  • The national anthem will be performed by 14-year-old vocalist Abby Heyde.
  • All Sunday home games are Kids Days at Comerica Park. All kids 14-and-under will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, enjoy free rides courtesy of Kroger on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, take part in free face painting, have the chance to win a bicycle and are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases courtesy of Aquafina and Meijer following the game, weather permitting.
  • Topps baseball cards will be distributed to all kids at all gates.
