Former MLB All-Star Charlie Nagy named Angels pitching coach

ANAHEIM, CA -- The Angels today announced Charlie Nagy has agreed to a two-year contract as the Club's Pitching Coach. Today's announcement was made by General Manager Billy Eppler.

Nagy, 48, joins the Angels staff after spending the 2015 season as a Special Assistant to Player Development with the Cleveland Indians. He has previously served as a Major League pitching coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2011-13, as well as working as the Triple-A pitching coach with the Columbus Clippers (CLE) in 2010 and the Salt Lake Bees (LAA) in 2006-07. 

A native of Bridgeport, CT, Nagy played 14 Major League seasons with Indians (1990-2002) and Padres (2003), compiling a 129-105 career record and 4.51 ERA (1954.2 IP - 980 ER). The three-time American League All-Star was a member of six A.L. Central Division Championship teams, two American League Champion squads and was inducted into the Indians Hall of Fame in 2007.
