Jeff Banister and Cole Hamels highlight an Evening with the Rangers event on December 16

Event is presented by Capital One Bank and benefits Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will host an Evening with the Rangers on Wednesday, December 16 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Details of the event were announced today.

Presented by Capital One Bank, An Evening with the Rangers will feature manager Jeff Banister and pitcher Cole Hamels as special guests. Couples attending the event will pose for photographs and receive an autograph baseball from Banister and Hamels as well as a Rangers Goody Bag. There will be a question and answer session with the two Rangers as well as other special features. Guests will also be treated to a multi-course holiday dinner.

An Evening with the Rangers is priced at $250.00 per couple and space is limited. The event will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Cholula Porch at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Net proceeds will benefit the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. Donations of new and unwrapped toys for the Cowboy Santas Program are also welcome.

SHAWN TOLLESON NAMED 2015 RANGERS PITCHER OF THE YEAR

Righthander Shawn Tolleson has been selected as the 2015 Texas Rangers Pitcher of the Year, it was announced today.

Tolleson was chosen in balloting by the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. He was 6-4 with a 2.99 ERA and 35 saves in 73 appearances with the Texas in 2015. Tolleson ranked fifth in the American League in saves and appearances, was third in relief innings (73.1), and tied for third in games finished (53). He converted a club record 94.6% (35 of 37) of his save opportunities, the second highest percentage among A.L. closers.

Tolleson, who earned all 35 saves after becoming the Rangers closer on May 20, is the first reliever to earn the team's Pitcher of the Year honor since Joaquin Benoit in 2007. Overall a reliever has now won the award nine times: 1979-Jim Kern; 1980-Danny Darwin; 1981-Steve Comer (co-winner); 1993-Tom Henke; 2001-Jeff Zimmerman; 2004-Francisco Cordero; 2006-Akinori Otsuka.

Tolleson will receive his award at the 2016 Dr Pepper Texas Rangers Awards Dinner on Friday, January 22 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine.
