Twins select right-handed pitcher Terry Doyle in Major League Rule 5 Draft

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected right-handed pitcher Terry Doyle from the Chicago White Sox organization in the Major League portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
Doyle went 1-5, 2.84 ERA (73.0 ip, 23 er) with 49 walks and 103 strikeouts in 11 starts at Single-A Winston-Salem. He also made 15 starts at Double-A Birmingham, going 7-5, 3.24 ERA (100.0 ip, 36 er), allowing 91 hits with 22 walks and 73 strikeouts. Doyle pitched for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League, going 4-0, 1.98 ERA (27.1 ip, 6 er), allowing 12 hits with five walks and 22 strikeouts in eight starts.
The 26-year-old was originally selected by the White Sox in the 37th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. He has a career minor league record of 26-23, 2.94 ERA (422.2 ip, 138 er) with 97 walks and 381 strikeouts in 75 appearances (63 starts).
The Twins also selected right-handed pitcher Marty Popham from the Cleveland Indians organization and lost right-handed pitcher Shooter Hunt to the St. Louis Cardinals organization in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft.
The Twins now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
