Sportservice hosts coat drive at Chicago Sports Depot

CHICAGO -- Sportservice, the operators of Chicago Sports Depot, will be hosting a coat drive all weekend at the store from Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18.  They are asking fans and shoppers to donate new, or gently-used coats, gloves, scarves or non-perishable, canned food items.

Anyone who donates clothing items will receive $10 off any outerwear purchase at the Chicago Sports Depot, while those who donate food items will receive a holiday gift bag. All the items collected will be donated to local shelters and non-profit agencies.

“Along with celebrating the opening of the Chicago Sports Depot this month, we also want to lend a hand to our neighbors in need,” said Joey Nigro, Sportservice general manager at U.S. Cellular Field.  “While it is a simple gesture on our part, we certainly hope it helps those less fortunate during this holiday season.”

The coat drive runs during Chicago Sports Depot’s hours of operations this weekend: Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  The World Series trophy will be on display all weekend and shoppers can get their picture taken with Santa Claus from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Chicago Sports Depot is located on 35th Street, just off the Dan Ryan Expressway near Gate 5 of U.S. Cellular Field.  Parking is free and available in Lot B.
