Braves Agree to Terms with Jack Wilson on a One-Year Deal
ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves announced today that they have agreed to terms with free-agent infielder Jack Wilson on a one-year contract for the 2012 season. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.
Wilson, 34, owns a .266 career batting average with 242 doubles, 61 home runs and 422 RBI. Wilson, who will begin his 12th major league season, returns to the Braves after joining Atlanta last season in an August trade with Seattle. Wilson spent eight-plus seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2001-2009 and parts of the last three years (2009-2011) with the Mariners.
The versatile infielder batted .243 (52-for-214) and made 61 starts last season, including 38 at second base, 21 at shortstop and two at third base.
