Indians Sign LHP Rafael Perez
The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has avoided arbitration and signed LHP RAFAEL PEREZ to a one-year Major League contract for the 2012 season.
Perez will begin his 7th season in the Indians bullpen in 2012 after posting a record of 5-2 w/a 3.00 ERA in 71 relief appearances (63.0IP, 59H, 21ER, 19BB, 33K) last year. He was tied for second among American League relievers in games pitched (71) and his pct. of inherited runners scored (15.9%, 7 of 44) was 6th lowest in the AL.
