Union Square Events unveils new dishes on Opening Day at Nationals Park

The Washington Nationals and Union Square Events will unveil several delicious new menu items from Blue Smoke, Box Frites and El Verano Taquería during the Nationals home opener on Thursday, April 12 at the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk. These new offerings will join a winning array of dishes from Union Square Events, the event services business of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group.

Nationals fans can choose from a wide variety of new offerings, including:
 • Buffalo and BLT Hot Dogs, Sweet Frites, a Curry Specialty Sauce and Individual Fried Pies at Box Frites
 • Barbacoa or Vegetarian folded Quesadillas and Churros at El Verano Taquería
 • Fried Chicken Sandwich from Blue Smoke

Also new this year, Union Square Events and the Nationals will launch "Eat for the Cycle," an in-park promotion for fans of all ages. Available in April, May and June, the exciting new promotion will be offered as follows:
 • Guests can pick up their "Eat for the Cycle" punch cards while supplies last at any of the following in-park eateries: Shake Shack, Blue Smoke, Box Frites and El Verano Taquería
 • Each time a guest makes a purchase of $7 or more from each eatery, their card will be stamped
 • Once a guest completes the cycle by receiving all four stamps during the promotion, the card can be redeemed at any of the participating eateries for a Nationals baseball hat and a choice of one of the following sweet treats:
    • One Double Dip Cup from Shake Shack
    • One Blue Smoke Salty Peanut-Jalapeño Chocolate Bar
    • One Fried Pie from Box Frites
    • One order of Churros from El Verano Taquería
 • Fans may also submit their completed "cycle" card in the comment card box at each participating location for a chance to win the Grand Giveaway:
    • Four tickets to a select game later in the season
    • Four field passes to watch batting practice
    • Dinner for four at the Union Square Events' ballpark eatery of their choice (value up to $60, excludes alcohol)

Located on the Mezzanine Level behind the NatsHD scoreboard, the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk offers fans an elevated view of the field while enjoying unparalleled dining choices as well as pregame music and drink specials during Miller Lite Party Nights every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The ballpark hotspot features live trees and plants that create a "park within the park" setting, as well as a 15' x 25' HDTV screen behind the scoreboard that allows fans to enjoy themselves without missing a minute of the action on the field.
