Padres Reinstate Quentin from 15-day DL and Option Tekotte to Triple-A Tucson

 The San Diego Padres today announced they have reinstated outfielder Carlos Quentin from the 15-day disabled list and have optioned outfielder Blake Tekotte to Triple-A Tucson. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Quentin, 29, will make his Padres debut in his first game after missing the first 49 games of the season while recovering from surgery on his right knee. He was originally placed on the disabled list on April 3. In nine minor leagues games as part of a rehab assignment between Single-A Lake Elsinore and Triple-A Tucson this year, he has hit .357 (10-for-28) with one double, two homers, nine RBI and eight runs scored. Over parts of six Major League seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2006-07) and Chicago White Sox (2008-11), Quentin has hit .252 (529-for-2,100) with 125 double, six triples, 121 home runs, 383 RBI and 321 runs scored in 616 games.

Tekotte, 25, has made two stints with the Padres this season, hitting .133 (2-for-15) in 11 games. In 28 games for Tucson this year, he has hit .283 (32-for-113) with 10 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 11 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases.
