'Mystery' autograph grab bags available Friday

Sales of autographed baseballs in paper bags support Mariners Care nonprofit foundation

The annual Mystery Autograph Grab Bag sale is Friday, June 29, when the Mariners take on the Boston Red Sox at Safeco Field. Game time is 7:10pm.

Fans can buy a grab bag for $50. Inside the sealed paper bag will be one baseball, autographed by a Mariners player or manager Eric Wedge. This year, the grab bags may also contain signatures of visiting players who’ve visited Safeco Field so far this season including members of the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and Red Sox.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit Mariners Care, the team’s nonprofit foundation which supports primarily youth-oriented charities throughout the Pacific Northwest. Mariners Care, in partnership with the team’s corporate partners, has provided an average of $1 million a year for regional charitable programs and causes.  Since 2000, the contributions have totaled $12.5 million.

The grab bags will be available on the Main Concourse near Section 128, at the skybrige entrance to the Wells Fargo Terrace Club, on the Holland America Suite Deck and the KeyBank Diamond Club.

Tickets for the upcoming Mariners homestand, which includes three games against the Oakland Athletics (June 25-27), Boston Red Soxx (June 28-July 1) and Baltimore Orioles (July 2-4), are available without a service charge at the Safeco Field ticket office and Seattle Mariners Team Stores (downtown Seattle at 4th & Stewart, Bellevue Square, Southcenter and Alderwood Mall).  Tickets are also available online at www.mariners.com and by phone at 1-888-SEA-HITS.
