White Sox reinstate Gavin Floyd from 15-Day Disabled List

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s game vs. Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Gavin Floyd from the 15-day disabled list.  Floyd is scheduled to start tonight’s series opener vs. the Twins.

Floyd, 29, has been on the disabled list since July 17 (retroactive to July 8) with right elbow tendinitis.

Floyd has gone 7-8 with a 4.54 ERA (52 ER/103.0 IP) and 91 strikeouts in 17 starts this season but is 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA (4 ER/26.1 IP) in his last four starts.  This was the first trip to the disabled list in his 11-year professional career.
