Marlins Face Off Against The Dodgers, Phillies At Marlins Park

Homestand to feature Friday Night Live Concert, Saturday Spectacular, Family Sunday and more

The Miami Marlins are ready to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers (August 10-12) and the Philadelphia Phillies (August 13-15) at Marlins Park. The six-game homestand will feature two fan giveaways (The first 5,000 kids will receive a Marlins Kids Back to School Binder presented by Office Depot on August 12, first 15,000 fans will receive a Giancarlo Stanton All-Star Poster presented by Franklin Dodd Communications on August 15), a Friday Night Live concert featuring Fito Blanko and Fuego presented by Badia Spices, Saturday Spectacular featuring a post-game fireworks show and post-game party with live music from Kevin Lyttle.   The homestand will also feature special promotions including the new Sir Pizza 4-Pack on August 10, the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24 on August 13, the Marlins 4-for-$54 offer on August 14 and Chevron Ticket Wednesday on August 15.

Starting Friday, August 10, the Marlins will face off against the Dodgers with the first pitch set for 7:10 P.M. Fans can pick up the new Marlins Pizza 4-Pack, including four tickets, 4 Sir Pizzas and 4 Pepsi soft drinks for $79. The offer is available at the Marlins Park box office.  Fans are also encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the pre-game party on the West Plaza, plus fans can enjoy a public autograph session with a Marlins player from 6 P.M. to 6:20 P.M. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game and enjoy a Friday Night Live concert featuring Fito Blanko and Fuego presented by Badia Spices. The three-game series continues on Saturday, August 11 at 7:10 P.M. with a post-game fireworks show and post-game party with live music from Kevin Lyttle. This Saturday will feature pre-game entertainment on the West Plaza from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. and an autograph session with a Marlins player on the Promenade Level from 6:00 to 6:20 P.M. On Family Sunday, August 12 fans can celebrate Jewish Heritage Day and Billy The Marlin’s Birthday.  Plus, the first 5,000 will receive a Marlins Kids Back to School Binder presented by Office Depot.  Pre-game fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990 and a special appearance from Olivia Holt, star of the Disney show Kickin It. Pregame entertainment will also include DJ Petey and the Energy Team. As part of Snapshot Sunday on the Promenade Level, fans can take photos with Olivia Holt from 11:30 A.M. to 12 P.M. and a Marlins player on the from 12 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where all kids can run the bases after the game.

Beginning on Monday, August 13, the Marlins will take on the Phillies. First pitch is set for 7:10 P.M. at Marlins Park. Military personnel with I.D. can claim their free tickets in honor of Military Mondays sponsored by Outback Steakhouse. Also, fans can get the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24; includes a Vista Level ticket and all you can eat hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, nachos, sodas and water. All You Can Eat seats in the Legends Level are also available for $34 each.

The series continues on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:10 P.M. Fans can purchase the 4 for $54 Pack, which includes 4 Vista Reserved Tickets, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 Sodas and 4 Bags of Chips for $54. The 4 for $64 is also available, which includes a seating upgrade to Legends Silver. Special is available on every Tuesday home game, online and at the box office, and can be sold as a group for the same price. Food, soda and chips vouchers are redeemable at all concession stands. The series finale is on Wednesday, August 15 at 12:40 P.M. where the first 15,000 fans will receive a Giancarlo Stanton All-Star Poster presented by Franklin Dodd Communications. Also, pre-game and post-game festivities will be available on the West Plaza.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE CONCERT FEATURING FITO BLANKO AND FUEGO PRESENTED BY BADIA SPICES: At a young age, Fito Blanko immigrated to Canada from Panama and by the age of 14, he started writing lyrics in English and Spanish. In 2003, Fito collaborated with the Dominican band Los Morenos. Fito also released two songs in the summer of 2003, and both songs charted in the Top 25 of the Reggae/Hip-Hop Charts. Fito released his debut album Higher Level in 2004 produced by Sensei. Higher Level produced two singles, "Me Voy a Marchar" and "By My Side". In 2006 and 2007, Fito collaborated with artists Rochester aka Juice, Bishop Brigante and D'Hitman. Most notably, he is featured on Darryl Riley's new single "Tear It Up" which also features Beenie Man. In 2007, Fito Blanko as well released the singles "Change The Game" featuring Tef and "Boom Boom". In 2009 Fito Blanko released "Mambo" featuring Drake (entertainer). Miguel Angel Duran better known by his stage name Fuego "La Musica Del Futuro" is a Dominican-American merengue singer-songwriter, composer & CEO of his label Estrella de Barrio (EDB Records).In 2005 with the help of Chencho from Reggaeton duo Plan B, he was featured in a compilation album (El Draft 2005) with his song "Me Gustan Todas", After he was part of "El Draft Del Reggaeton" he was signed to "Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, Inc", in 2007 "Hustlin Time" featuring Rick Ross was released to promote Chosen Few III: The Movie. In 2008 Fuego scored his first big hit "Mi Alma Se Muere" which was the lead single to Chosen Few III: The Movie "Mi Alma Se Muere" Remix featuring Pitbull & Omega "El Fuerte" was released later that year, The remix peaked at No. 22 for over 24 weeks on the Top 100 Billboards Tropical.

 In 2009 he released "Super Estrella" featuring Omega "El Fuerte" which was the first single to his debut album "La Musica del Futuro". In December 2009, his second single was released "Que Buena Tu Ta" featuring Deevani which peaked at No. 2 on the Top 100 Billboards Tropical for 12 weeks. In 2010 two remixes to "Que Buena Tu Ta" were released one featuring Serani and a Dominican version featuring Mozart La Para, BlackPoint, Sensato, Los Pepes, Monkey Black and Villanosam.

STATE FARM “GO TO BAT AWARD” SHAKE-A-LEG MIAMI: Prior to the Saturday, August 11th, Marlins vs. Dodgers game, the Marlins and State Farm will recognize Shake-a-Leg Miami for their commitment and support to the local community. State Farm will present Shake-a-Leg Miami with their award in a special, pre-game, on-field ceremony. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

SALUTE TO SUPER HEROES:

Pre-game, West Plaza:

We will have 15-25 specialty vehicles on display from Miami-Dade Police Department, City of Miami Fire Department, and other city departments from across Miami-Dade County. Vehicles will includes fire trucks, bomb squad truck, DARE Mustang, static display helicopter, etc.

Also, 4-6 county and city departments will have a booth / table on the West Plaza that day to distribute info regarding their community programs (SART – Sexual Assault Response Team, Child Finger Printing program, etc).

Pre-game, on-field ceremony:

Multi-jurisdictional honor guard, including delegates from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Also scheduled is the Honor Flag with its intro video. This is TBA as Bray has a Disabled Veterans group scheduled for the honor guard that day.  We’re working to see if both honor guards are willing to combine their efforts.

Pre-game, on-field ceremony:

We will be honoring 4-6 local “Super Heroes”, first responders who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in South Florida. Honorees will be from a variety of municipalities (Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, and/or local city departments within Miami-Dade County).

Snapshot Sunday: On every Family Sunday this season, fans will be able to have their photograph taken with a Marlins player.  Fans are reminded to bring their own camera.  Snapshot Sunday is located on the Promenade Level in Section 28 from 12:00 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. 

OLIVIA HOLT: Special guest Olivia Holt, from the Disney show Kickin It, will also be taking pictures with fans from 11:30 A.M. to 12 P.M at Snapshot Sunday, and interacting at the Radio Disney Family Fun Zone on the Promenade Level at Section 34. 

Olivia Holt stars as Kim, a confident martial artist and the only girl in the dojo who can go toe-to-toe with the boys, in the Disney XD comedy series "Kickin' It."

Born August, 5, 1997, in Germantown, Tennessee, and raised in Nesbit, Mississippi, Holt began singing and acting on stage at age three. She starred in numerous community productions including "Annie" and "Through the Looking Glass" before landing a role in the indie film "Black & Blue." She also appeared in multiple national TV commercials including Hasbro, Mattel and Bratz dolls.

MARLINS WIVES BACK 2 SCHOOL DRIVE: The Marlins wives will be holding their Annual Back to School Drive to help prepare south Florida’s less fortunate children with the necessary supplies to head back to school. 

Supplies, such as paper, pencils, notebooks, backpacks, calculators, and even clothing will be collected at the entrance gates and donated to underserved youth in the south Florida community.

Each donor will receive two tickets to a 2012 home game.

Prior to the game, Marlins fans will have the opportunity to stop by the Office Depot Foundation Kiosk located on the West Plaza to meet Billy the Marlin, the Marlins Sea Race Characters presented by Office Depot, and take pictures with the Office Depot Tony Stewart Show Car.
