Giants welcome the braves to town
Homestand features: Dog Days of Summer, America’s Cup Day and Pablo Sandoval Bobblehead
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - The San Francisco Giants return to AT&T Park for a quick four-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves, August 23-26.
Thursday, August 23, is the 8th annual Step Up to the Plate Night at AT&T Park. The Giants and Jeremy Affeldt will are dedicating an evening to raise awareness and funds for organizations in the community serving the thhomeless and at-risk youth, adults and families.ose unfortunate civilians living in a life of poverty. Partial proceeds from ticket sales will benefit non-profits in San Francisco and fans who purchase a special event ticket to support Step Up to the Plate community partners will receive a Jeremy Affeldt bobblehead.
Friday, August 24, is Italian Heritage Night at AT&T Park. Fans who purchase a special event ticket package will receive a limited edition "Bocce Ball" set. This unique set of bocce balls is themed around Giants Manager Bruce Bochy.
Saturday, August, 25 is the annual Dog Days of Summer where fans with a special event ticket will be able to walk in a pre-game parade on the field with their dogs. Additionally, the Giants will be hosting America’s Cup Day. The first 20,000 fans will receive an America’s Cup Day poster presented by Oracle Team USA. Fans can also purchase a special event ticket to see Jimmy Spithill (Skipper), Russell Coutts (Skipper & CEO, ORACLE TEAM USA) and John Kostecki (Tactician) of the America's Cup holders and AC World Series World Champions ORACLE TEAM USA in Triples Alley to greet fans and answer questions during a Q&A session hosted by Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow.
On Sunday, August 26, a Pablo Sandoval Bobblehead presented by Re/Max will be given to the first 25,000 fans. Also, Sunday is Giants Community Fund’s Junior Giants Coaches Recognition Night. Prior to the game the Giants Community Fund will be welcoming nearly 2,000 volunteer Junior Giants coaches to the ballpark who have worked throughout the summer to coach over 20,000 participants in 85 communities. In addition to coaching baseball, these volunteers also ran programs in Education, Health and Violence Prevention, as well as instilling the Four Bases of Character Development. Willie Mac Award Winners from each league will be honored on the field with Willie McCovey in a homeplate ceremony. Please be advised that ESPN has selected this game as the ESPN Sunday Night Game of the Week. First pitch has been changed from 1:05 p.m. PT to 5:06 p.m. PT.
