The Pittsburgh Pirates return to PNC Park for a six-game homestand as they play host to the Houston Astros and the Chicago Cubs. The 11th homestand of 2012 is highlighted by the You Score as the Bucs Score promotion during the Monday, September 3 thru Wednesday, September 5 series with the Astros and Zambelli Fireworks Night on Saturday, September 8.

  • Pirates Celebrity Bartenders: Tonight's celebrity bartender, former Pirates first baseman Bob Robertson, will serve cocktails in the Hall of Fame Club beginning in the 7th inning and staying thru 30 minutes after the game.

Saturday, September 8, 2012 - Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs (7:05 p.m.)
  • Miracle League Opening: Today at 11 a.m. will be the Grand Opening ceremony of the Rotary Miracle League Sports Complex of Murrysville (4060 Wiestertown Road, Murrysville, Pa 15668) and the inaugural baseball game at the Bill Mazeroski Miracle Field, the centerpiece of the complex. Pirates and Pirates Charities Chairman, Bob Nutting will be in attendance along with Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski, Greg Brown, Kent Tekulve, the Pirate Parrot and more.
  • Live Like Lou: Tonight more than 275 supporters of the "Live Like Lou" foundation will be in attendance to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease. The goal of the Live Like Lou foundation is to raise awareness of ALS, provide care and comfort to ALS families in Western Pennsylvania, and support scientific research targeted at finding a cure. On this special night at PNC Park, Pirates Charities has donated "Live Like Lou" T-Shirts to all members of the group as the foundation's founder, Neil Alexander will throw a ceremonial first pitch to Pirates broadcaster Steve Blass in a special pregame ceremony.   • Zambelli Fireworks Night: Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats immediately following the game and enjoy an amazing fireworks display presented by Zambelli Fireworks International, courtesy of Yuengling Oktoberfest.
  • Saturday Raffles: The Pirates Charities Saturday Raffles will be held in-ballpark throughout the 2012 season. The raffle location is outside of the main Guest Relations office behind section 117. Fans can purchase raffle tickets to win prizes including Pirates memorabilia, original artwork, gift certificates and more. Tickets are one for $2 or three for $5 with all proceeds benefitting Pirates Charities. The prize drawing takes place at the end of the 7th inning.
  • Scratch and Win: All fans, with paid admission, will receive a scratch and win ticket, compliments of Eat'n Park.
Sunday, September 9, 2012 - Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs (1:35 p.m.) Kids Day
  • Kids Day: Come down early and join the fun as the #1 Cochran Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lined up outside PNC Park will be inflatable rides, face painting, information about the #1 Cochran Bucaroos Kids Club and more.
  • Neil Walker Fathead Jr. Wall Decal: All fans 14 and under, with paid attendance, will receive a free Neil Walker Fathead Jr. wall decal presented by Trib Total Media.
  • Pirates Tales: Today starting at noon, a Pirates player (TBD) will read Casey at the Bat to 200 preselected local youth on the Pirates Deck. The Pirate Parrot will also make an appearance and act out the book as the player reads along. Each youth in attendance will receive a bag full of items including books, a Pirates promotional item, a Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh item and $5 in Aramark Dollars. Pirates Tales is a summer reading program for Pittsburgh area youth in grades one thru six, presented by Pirates Charities in partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Reading Is FUNdamental Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Library Association, and The Consortium for Public Education.
  • Kids Run the Bases: Kids attending today's game are invited to stick around after the game to run the bases on the field at PNC Park, courtesy of H.K. Anderson Pretzels.
  • Grandparents Day: Join the Pirates today as we celebrate Grandparents Day at PNC Park. Tickets are available for $7 (Upper Grandstand), $12 (Grandstand), $20 (Outfield Box) and $33 (Pittsburgh Baseball Club) and the day will feature pregame fun on Federal Street at the Highmark Booth that will include a chance to get a picture taken with the Pirate Parrot, kids' make-your-own Grandparents Day card and the ability to text a "thank you" message to grandparents for display at the ballpark.
  • Advantage Card Game: As part of the many fan-friendly values at PNC Park, today is a Giant Eagle Advantage Card game! Fans can save up to $10 on select tickets for every Sunday home game. For complete details, visit pirates.com/advantagecard.
Dynamic Pricing Section

New for 2012, the Pirates unveiled dynamic pricing system for the Bleacher General Admission section at PNC Park. Tickets for the 1,400 seat section, located in left field, will be placed on sale 10-days prior to each home game. The initial ticket price will then be adjusted- both lower and higher- in real time, based on demand. As of Monday, September 3, this homestand features $10 tickets for the Sunday, September 9 game vs. the Chicago Cubs. Where's the Parrot?

The Pirate Parrot is active in and around the community as an ambassador of the Pirates organization. Below are a few of the upcoming events he will be attending in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

  • The Walk to Defeat ALS at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium on Saturday, September 8 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • The Murrysville Miracle League Grand Opening at the Murrysville Community Park on Saturday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to noon.
  • Mt. Lebanon 100th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, September 8 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The 2012 Hemophilia Walk at Harmar Grove on Saturday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • The Greentree Octoberfest on Sunday, September 16 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Pierogies will be attending the Family House POLO Match at Hartwood Acres on Saturday, September 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Pirates Season Ticket Plans

The Pirates have announced 2013 season ticket sales and renewals have begun with the first payment for renewals due September 14. Pirates Season Ticket Holders will continue to receive the best value in the ballpark as the team also announced that the average ticket price for the 2013 season will once again represent one of the lowest in Major League Baseball. The Pirates maintained one of the lowest price points in all of professional sports with the team's $449 Full Season Value Plan - which is an average of only $5.54 per ticket per game.

The Pirates also announced the return of the "30-in-30" promotion starting on September 14, which will reward one Season Ticket Holder each day for 30 days. All full, half and 20-game season ticket holder who renew their tickets from now to October 13, 2012 will be eligible for the drawing from the time they process their order (a minimum of 1/7th the deposit is required to be eligible). Prizes include a trip for two to the 2013 Mid-Summer Classic, autographed items and more.

Full and partial-season ticket plans feature exclusive benefits including first priority for potential 2012 Postseason tickets for games played at PNC Park for all full-season, 41-game, and 20-game season ticket holders. Fans who are not current season ticket holders, but put a deposit down toward a 2013 plan will also receive postseason priority.
