White Sox outright Ray Olmedo to class AAA Charlotte
CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have outrighted infielder Ray Olmedo to Class AAA Charlotte. Olmedo will become a minor-league free agent.
Olmedo, 31, appeared in 20 games (nine starts) with the White Sox in 2012, going 10-41 (.244) with one RBI and eight runs scored. Olmedo hit .273 (75-275) with 19 RBI and 24 runs scored over 80 games with Charlotte this season. He signed with Chicago as a minor-league free agent on November 21, 2011.
With the move, the White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 39.
