Baseball veterans who served during World War II to be honored prior to Game Two of the 2012 World Series

Game is dedicated to veterans and military families as MLB highlights Welcome Back Veterans Initiative

Major League Baseball will highlight the League's support for the military, specifically through the Welcome Back Veterans initiative, by dedicating Game Two of the 2012 World Series on FOX to veterans and military families. There will be a special pre-game ceremony featuring World War II-era baseball veterans who served the United States, including Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr, Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda, Hall of Fame Broadcaster Bob Wolff and former All-Star and Hall of Fame Broadcaster Jerry Coleman. The pre-game will also include FOX's "Glee" star and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Matthew Morrison performing the National Anthem. Game Two will take place on Thursday, October 25th at 8:07 p.m. ET on FOX, featuring the San Francisco Giants vs. the Detroit Tigers.

PRE-GAME CEREMONY VIDEO: The ceremony that pays tribute to legends and members of the Baseball Family who served the country in World War II includes a special video narrated by NBC News Special Correspondent and best-selling author of the "The Greatest Generation" Tom Brokaw.

FIRST-PITCH: The first pitch at AT&T Park will be thrown by Nicholas Kimmel, Corporal in the United States Marines Corp, who lost both legs and his left arm while on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.

VA MEDICAL CENTER VISIT: Before the game, Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig, President and Chief Executive Officer of the San Francisco Giants Larry Baer, Hall of Famer and Giants Legend Gaylord Perry, Giants Legend Will Clark and Jerry Coleman will visit patients at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.

WELCOME BACK VETERANS: Launched in 2008 by Major League Baseball and the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, Welcome Back Veterans (www.WelcomeBackVeterans.org) has awarded more than $13 million in grants to non-profit agencies targeting returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans' and their families' greatest needs, focusing on treatment and research of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMANCE: FOX's "Glee" star and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Matthew Morrison will perform the National Anthem prior to Game Two. "Glee" airs Thursdays at 9 pm EST/ PST on FOX. Recently, Morrison starred opposite Cameron Diaz in the film "What to Expect When You're Expecting." He released his self-titled debut solo album with Mercury Records.

FIRST-BALL DELIVERY FROM BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA: Clarissa Fong, 16, from Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County, Orange Park Clubhouse. She is a junior at South San Francisco High School.
