Pirates finalize 2013 Summer Concert Series at PNC Park

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today the details of their 2013 summer concert series at PNC Park following select Pirates home games. The exciting lineup of national performers will headline four Saturday dates between June 1 and September 21.

The 2013 season will once again feature the extremely popular “SkyBlast” series -- presented by Iron City Beer -- which encompasses a live concert by a popular musical performer accompanied by a spectacular Zambelli Fireworks show following a Pirates home game. The dates and performers are as follows:

  • Saturday, August 31, will feature rock band Third Eye Blind after the Pirates take on the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:05 p.m. The highly acclaimed band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and is best known for the hit songs “Semi-Charmed Life”, “Jumper”, and “How’s it Going to Be.”
  • The rock band Neon Trees will perform live on Saturday, September 21, after the Pirates battle the Cincinnati Reds at 7:05 p.m. The popular band broke onto the national music scene in 2008 and has achieved Platinum status for their hits “Animal” and “Everybody Talks.”

In addition, the Pirates announced the popular “FAN JAM” post-game concert series will be back once again in 2013. The dates and performers are as follows:

  • Saturday, June 1 will feature legendary R&B artists Kool & the Gang performing post-game after the Pirates battle the Cincinnati Reds at 7:15 p.m. as part of the annual Heritage Celebration weekend. The band that needs no introduction has sold over 70 million albums and produced 11 Top 10 hits including; “Celebration,” “Joanna,” “Cherish, “Ladies Night”, “Too Hot”, and “Get Down on it” to name a few.
  • Saturday, June 15 will feature Blues Traveler after the Pirates take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at 4:05 p.m. The popular band has sold more than 13 million combined units worldwide and in June, 2012 released their new album “Suzie Cracks the Whip.” In the band’s more than 25 years on the music scene, their hits include “Hook,” “But Anyway” and “Run-Around,” which climbed as high as number eight on the Billboard Hot 100.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our fans four exciting post-game concerts in 2013,” said Lou DePaoli, Pirates Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We are once again seeing strong demand for all of our Saturday games for 2013, but the demand for the SkyBlast and Fan Jam dates has been very strong and those dates are sure to be sellouts again this season.”

Season ticket plans are on sale now for fans who want to ensure they get their seats for all games on their 2013 wish list, including Opening Day, the two SkyBlasts, and two Fan Jam dates. Fans can choose from a Full Season Plan starting as low as $449, a 41-Game Plan featuring every weekend game, and 20-Game Plans and 10-Game Plans that are focused around the best games of the season.
