Detroit Tigers Offer Gluten-Free Ticket Package to Benefit Tri-County Celiac Support Group

The Detroit Tigers have announced a special Gluten Free ticket/food package for fans at Comerica Park. The Gluten Free package includes a ticket to the game on Monday, June 17, 2013 as the Tigers host the Baltimore Orioles. Packages are on sale now, subject to availability.

Join the Detroit Tigers for a night of baseball and a Gluten Free menu! A portion of each package will support the Tri-County Celiac Support Group. The package is priced at $40 and includes an Upper Box Infield Ticket, a voucher for Gluten Free Meal: Gluten Free Turkey Sandwich with Lettuce, Tomato and Cranberry Mayo; Spring Crudite with Hummus & Gluten Free Sesame Snack Bar and a $4 donation to the Tri-County Celiac Support Group. What is TCCSG?
TCCSG is the largest celiac support group in southeastern Michigan, with a goal to be a support resource for all persons diagnosed with Celiac Disease and/or Dermatitis Herpetiformis or those living a gluten-free lifestyle and their family and friends.

What is Celiac Disease?
Celiac Disease is a disease of the small intestine triggered by the ingestion of wheat, rye, barley or oats. A type of protein in these grains causes an "autoimmune" response that damages the small intestinal lining in genetically susceptible individuals. Celiac disease is estimated to occur in 1 of 135 persons in the United States. It is twice as common in females and occurs primarily in Caucasians.
