Marlins acquire three pitchers from Dodgers in exchange for RHP Ricky Nolasco

ST. LOUIS -- The Marlins tonight acquired Minor League right-handed pitchers Steven Ames, Angel Sanchez and Josh Wall from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for RHP Ricky Nolasco and the Marlins' fourth-selection of the 2013 International Bonus Pool. The announcement was made by Marlins' President of Baseball Operations Larry Beinfest. 
 
Ames, 25, was 2-2 with eight saves and a 3.67 ERA (34.1 IP/14 ER) in 30 games for Triple-A Albuquerque this season. In his five professional seasons, the Vancouver, Wash. native is 8-10 with a 2.22 ERA (207.0/51) in 170 games after being selected by the Dodgers in the 17th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Gonzaga University.
 
Sanchez, 23, who hails from Salcedo, Dominican Republic, has split time between Single-A Great Lakes and Rancho Cucamonga this season, combining to go 2-7 with a 4.67 ERA (81.0/42) in 16 games, 15 of which were starts. Signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent on July 12, 2010, Sanchez was ranked as the Dodgers' No. 8 prospect entering the 2013 season and owns a lifetime 16-23 record with a 4.91 ERA (310.0/169) in 63 games (54 starts).  
 
Wall, the Dodgers second-round selection in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, has made 13 career Major League appearances, going 1-1 with a 12.08 ERA (12.2/17). For Triple-A Albuquerque this year, the 26-year-old Walker, La. native has gone 1-2 with three saves and a 5.60 ERA (27.1/17) in 25 appearances. In his nine-year Minor League career, Wall has compiled a 40-47 record and 33 saves with a 5.01 ERA (752.1/419) in 252 games (115 starts).
 
Nolasco, 30, has posted a 5-8 record and 3.85 ERA (112.1/48) in 18 starts for Miami this season. The Corona, Calif. native made his Major League debut with the Marlins on April 5, 2006 at Houston, a 3.0-inning relief appearance, and went on to become the Marlins' all-time leader in wins (81), losses (72), games started (197), innings pitched (1,225.2), hits allowed (1,302), runs (650), earned runs (604), home runs (147) and strikeouts (1,001). The Marlins acquired Nolasco from the Chicago Cubs on December 7, 2005, along with RHP Sergio Mitre and LHP Renyel Pinto, in exchange for current Marlins' outfielder Juan Pierre.
