Marlins sign first-round draft pick Colin Moran

Agree to Terms with 29 Selections from 2013 First-Year Player Draft

MIAMI - The Miami Marlins today announced that they have signed third baseman Colin Moran, the Club's first-round selection (sixth overall) in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. The Marlins made a total of 31 signings (two undrafted free agents) from the 2013 Draft. The announcement was made by Vice President of Scouting Stan Meek.
 
Moran, a junior All-American at the University of North Carolina, is a finalist for the 2013 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award for the top amateur player in the country. He was named the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, leading the Tar Heels to the ACC championship and the No. 1 overall seed in this year's College World Series. Moran finished the season with a .345 average (97x281), 13 home runs and an NCAA-best 91 RBI.
