Red Sox announce new initiatives for fans during second half of the season
Tasty Burger, Mac 'n' Cheese, Clam Strips, and Scallop Rolls coming; cell phone charging stations and a fun place for families to "beat the heat" among new amenities at Fenway Park
The Boston Red Sox will introduce a host of new initiatives for fans at Fenway Park in the second half of this season, including new concession offerings, cell phone charging stations, a photo-sharing kiosk, new in-game entertainment features, and new spaces to relax or cool off. The second half of the season begins tomorrow night with a 7-game homestand against the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays. The club plays 13 games at Fenway Park in the next 17 days.
Beat the Heat (And Let the Kids Play) in the Champions Club During Games
Starting tomorrow, fans can relax, cool off, and enjoy Hood ice cream sundaes and other refreshments in the Champions Club presented by Alex and Ani from the 3rd through the 7th innings.
Located off the Big Concourse in right field, children can enjoy the Champions Club's transformation during the game into the Red Sox Kid Nation Clubhouse. All children can enjoy Wii baseball, a bean bag toss, face painter, balloon artist, caricature artist, and a visit from Wally the Green Monster during the 3rd inning. On weekends, children can also enjoy a magician.
The Champions Club, which serves as a venue for events before games when the team is on the road, and in the offseason, was refurbished this past winter with photos, artifacts, and memorabilia from the franchise's seven World Series Championships.
Recharge Cell Phones at Gates B, C, E, and Elsewhere
Starting in August, fans will have new opportunities to recharge their cell phones at Fenway Park. A table with 16 universal chargers will be placed at each of five locations: Gates B and C (both on the Big Concourse), the Gate E Concourse, the Budweiser Right Field Roof, and the Coca Cola Deck. They are being installed in partnership with Major League Baseball Advanced Media and Go Charge.
Enjoy Tasty Burger, Mac 'n' Cheese, Scallops, and Clams
A new Tasty Burger stand will enable fans to enjoy the local favorite on Yawkey Way. New Mac 'n' Cheese Bites will be available behind home plate inside Gate D and on the Home Plate Deck at the top of the grandstand. Also at those two locations, the seafood lineup will now feature fried clam strip rolls and fried scallop rolls, in addition to the popular lobster rolls.
Even More Ice Cream
In the Big Concourse, fans will find two new stands with Hood soft serve ice cream, one of the most popular items of the summer at Fenway Park. Also, to provide more variety to fans atop the Green Monster, vendors will now peddle popcorn, kettle corn, and cotton candy.
A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words
Later this month, the Red Sox will introduce a photo-sharing kiosk to allow fans to take pictures with backdrops that feature the Red Sox or Fenway Park. The photos can be uploaded to Facebook and Twitter pages.
Kids, Sox, and Tweeted Photos on Board
Innovations on the videoboard will include a Kids Cam showing children live in the middle of the 4th inning. An inning later, fans can learn more about players in a new feature called "Know Your Sox," and after the 5th, photos will be displayed of fans who tweeted them to @Red Sox using the hashtag #MyFenwayPhotos.
Fenway Greener than Ever
As part of Fenway Park's continuing energy conservation initiative, incandescent and fluorescent lighting will be replaced by energy-efficient LED lighting to reduce electrical consumption.
Red Sox Season Ticket Holder Loyalty Program
Season Ticket Holders who are members of the Royal Rooters Club will continue to enjoy the benefits of a new Red Sox Rewards loyalty program. In a pilot during the first half of the season, members earned experiences such as watching a game from the owners' suite, watching an inning from behind the Green Monster, visiting the NESN and WEEI broadcast booths, and having their children take the field with the players.
During the second half of the season, new prizes include a Ceremonial First Pitch, posing in the official Red Sox organization photo, a VIP trip to Spring Training, and a road trip with the team.

Later in the year, full-season ticket holders will step onto the field, into the batting cage, and take their cuts in a Batting Practice session at Fenway Park. Also, Season Ticket Holders and Red Sox Nation Members continue to enjoy early entry to Fenway Park to see Red Sox Batting Practice each day.
A Last Word About the Heat:
In addition to finding relief in the Champions Club, this weekend fans will find Misting Fans inside Gates A, B, C, and D, and at the First Aid station. Water Stations featuring water, ice, seating, and extra EMS personnel will be at Gate C and First Aid.
