Mariners recall RHP Brandon Maurer from AAA Tacoma; option RHP Hector Noesi to AAA Tacoma
Maurer will be available for today's game versus the Minnesota Twins
Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today the following roster moves:
- RHP Brandon Maurer recalled from AAA Tacoma
- RHP Hector Noesi optioned to AAA Tacoma (post-game 7/26)
Maurer, 23, is in his second stint with the Mariners this season after making the Opening Day roster. He made 10 starts for the Mariners going 2-7 with a 6.93 ERA (38 ER, 49.1 IP). Maurer was optioned to AAA Tacoma on May 29 and went 3-4 with a 5.21 ERA (27 ER, 46.2 IP) in 10 starts. He started for the Rainiers on July 24 vs. Tucson, allowing 3 runs (2 ER) on 5 hits in 6.2 innings to record the win.
Noesi 26, is 0-1, 5.64 (10 ER, 22.1 IP) in nine games over in three stints with the Mariners this season (also: April 18-May 17 and May 27-June 5). He has also pitched with AA Jackson (1-0, 0.00 in 2 GS) and Tacoma (2-1, 7.20 in 8 games, 5 GS) this season.
