Mariners medical update on RHP Stephen Pryor

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced today the following medical update on right-handed pitcher Stephen Pryor:

Pryor felt discomfort during his rehabilitation assignment to AAA Tacoma and underwent an MRI exam on Saturday in Seattle.

Mariners medical director, Dr. Edward Khalfayan has diagnosed an injured right triceps muscle.

Pryor will be re-evaluated in the coming week, but he is not expected to pitch competitively for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Pryor, 24, was originally placed on the 15-day DL on April 15 with a torn right latissimus dorsi muscle. He was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 17.
