Single-A CarollinaOF Bryson Myles wins Player of the Week honors

The Cleveland Indians today announced that Single-A Carolina OF BRYSON MYLES has been named the Indians Minor League Player of the Week for July 29-August 5.

Myles, 23, ranked fifth in the Carolina League in batting throughout the week, hitting .409 (9-22) with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored, while recording a 1.072 OPS (.481 OBP/.591 SLG). He recorded a pair of multi-hit games, including his third 3-hit performance of the season on August 1st vs. Frederick. On the season he is batting .283 (64-226) with 15 doubles, 7 home runs, 40 RBI and 10 stolen bases. Myles is currently riding a career-best 17-game hitting streak, dating back to July 15, batting .385 (25-65) with 8 extra-base hits and 16 RBI over that span. The 17-game streak is longest by any Tribe farmhand this season.

The 5-11" 230-pound outfielder was originally drafted by the Indians in the 6th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. A native of Tyler, Texas, Myles spent the entire 2012 season with the Lake County Captains and finished the campaign ranked 8th in the Midwest League in batting (.290).
