D-backs to host post-game concert featuring The Summer Set on August 30

Ticket packages to benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) will host a post-game acoustic concert featuring The Summer Set (@the_Summer_Set) on Friday, Aug. 30 at Game Seven Grill. The Scottsdale-based band will host patients and families from the Phoenix Children's Heart Center during a special pregame ceremony and lead bass guitarist Stephen Gomez will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the D-backs vs. Giants game at 6:40 p.m. at Chase Field.

Fans can choose from two special ticket packages that both will benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital. Available to the first 75 people, fans can get a $25 package that includes a Baseline Reserve ticket, a meet and greet with the band, VIP tickets for front stage at the post-game concert and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Fans can also purchase an $18 Bleacher ticket with proceeds benefiting Phoenix Children's Hospital.

The band has worked closely with Phoenix Children's Hospital over the last year, recently donating a music room to the hospital, and began their "Legendary Moments" campaign to inspire kids to turn their dreams into reality by challenging them to be the best versions of themselves they can be. For bassist Stephen Gomez, his Legendary Moment will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the D-backs' game. The band will also host several patients from Phoenix Children's Hospital during a pregame ceremony that will also include a $10,000 check presentation from the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation to the Phoenix Children's Heart Center. Some of the children are currently undergoing treatment for congenital heart defects while others have undergone a complete heart transplant.

The Summer Set will perform a 30-minute acoustic set at Game Seven Grill approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the D-backs' game. Fans will be able to enjoy the music as well as view the Fireworks Spectacular along the Gila River Casinos Plaza.

The Summer Set, which includes drummer Jess Bowen, guitarists John Gomez and Josh Montgomery, and bassist Stephen Gomez, was formed in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2007, when Bowen and the brothers Gomez recruited lead singer Brian Dales and self-released their first EP Love The Love You Have that fall. During the last six years, the band has traveled the world playing countless shows, including runs on the 2009 Alternative Press Tour, 2010 Vans Warped Tour, 2011's red-hot Dirty Work Tour with All Time Low and Yellowcard, the annual Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey, and extensive international dates in places like Australia, Brazil, Japan, the Philippines and Europe.

The band's critically-acclaimed third album Legendary, which released April 16 on Fearless Records, debuted at No. 3 on the iTunes Pop Charts and No. 9 on the overall iTunes Chart. The album's first single "Boomerang" surpassed an impressive 10,000 digital sales in its first week and has been receiving spins on Top 40 stations nationwide. Cover stars of the Alternative Press 2013 Vans Warped Tour issue and winners of the Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star competition, The Summer Set is en route to the top with another year of success in store.
