A's Place C Derek Norris on 15-Day Disabled List

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland Athletics have placed catcher Derek Norris on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to August 21 with a fractured left big toe, it was announced today.

Norris was batting .232 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 84 games. He was hitting .345 with nine walks, a hit by pitch and .446 on-base percentage since July 1 after batting .283 in April and a combined .163 in May and June. This is his first career stint on the disabled list.
