Rockies announce 2014 Promotional Schedule

"Retire 17" weekend and bobblehead gnomes featured

The Colorado Rockies announced their much anticipated 2014 promotions and special events lineup today. The schedule features the "Retire 17" weekend August 15-17, bobblehead gnomes, Rockies collectible jerseys and the second Country on the Rox post-game concert. Opening Day at Coors Field with the popular Rockies magnet schedule giveaway is set for Friday, April 4 at 2:10 p.m. versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Highlights from the 2014 schedule of events, as well as details on some of the club's special ticket opportunities, are listed below. EXCITING PROMOTIONS

"RETIRE 17" WEEKEND Rockies fans will want to celebrate franchise icon Todd Helton's career and retirement with a full weekend of activities August 15-17 when the Rockies host the Cincinnati Reds. The celebration begins on Friday night when the first 15,000 fans will be given a Todd Helton "Farewell" bobblehead and then continues on Saturday when the first 15,000 fans through the gates receive a Todd Helton Collectible Jersey. The three-day celebration concludes on Sunday with a pregame ceremony to formally retire Helton's number 17 plus a Todd Helton bobblehead gnome presented to the first 15,000 fans attending that day.

BOBBLEHEAD GNOMES Bobblehead gnomes will be given away on nine different Sundays throughout the season. These truly unique collector's items featuring Helton and several of the Rockies current players will be presented to the first 15,000 fans on nine designated dates.

ROCKIES COLLECTIBLE JERSEYS Five different Saturday games will feature Rockies collectible jerseys to be given away to the first 15,000 fans at Coors Field. Among the five replica player jerseys to be distributed will be those of fan favorites Nolan Arenado, Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki.

PURPLE MONDAY T-SHIRTS Continuing to paint the town purple, the Rockies will bring back "Purple Monday" by giving away purple tees to the first 5,000 fans every Monday home game, and great prizes will be given out throughout these games to fans wearing purple.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL CAP Fans will receive a collectible MLB branded cap given to the first 15,000 to attend the May 2 game vs. the New York Mets.

SPECIAL EVENTS LINEUP

FIREWORKS GAMES Three games featuring the spectacular Coors Field fireworks show are set for Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4 when the Rockies host the Los Angeles Dodgers and then again on Friday, September 19, when the Arizona Diamondbacks come to Denver. Rockies fans should plan ahead to purchase their tickets for Colorado's best fireworks show because these games will sell out.

COUNTRY ON THE ROX Rockies fans of Country Music Superstar Sara Evans should get their tickets quickly for the game on Sunday, July 27. This Country on the Rox post-game concert at Coors Field will follow the 2:10 p.m. game between the Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates. An award-winning singer and songwriter, Evans brings her chart-topping Country hits to the infield at Coors Field.

FAITH DAY The 2014 Faith Day at Coors Field will be Sunday, August 24, and features the return of BEC recording artist with 32 Number 1 Radio Hits, Jeremy Camp. For group sales information call the Rockies at (303) ROCKIES (762-5437).

RETURNING FAVORITES

Dollar Hot Dog Nights: Dollar Hot Dog Nights are back and better than ever! For six select dates throughout the season, the first 10,000 fans can receive a coupon to purchase a hot dog for just $1 each. Dollar Hot Dog Nights are scheduled for April 8, May 6, June 10, July 8, August 19 and September 16.

Photo Day and Team Poster: One of the most exciting promotions of any season is the Fan Photo Day when all fans are allowed onto the field prior to the game to snap photos with their favorite Rockies players. In addition, all fans attending the game on July 12 vs. the Minnesota Twins receive a 2014 Rockies Team Poster.

Fan Appreciation Day: Sunday September 21 vs. Arizona is the final scheduled 2014 regular season game and the club will celebrate their fans with the annual Fan Appreciation Day. The day includes a bevy of promotional items and the players' annual lap around the Coors Field warning track.
