Marietta resident Cindy Donald and Atlanta Braves to team up again in 2014 for "Cindy's Walks for Recovery"

Lake Buena Vista, FL - The Cindy Donald Dreams of Recovery Foundation and the Atlanta Braves will team up again during the 2014 season for Cindy's Walks for Recovery, the unique fundraising program which debuted last spring.

The announcement was made Thursday by Dreams of Recovery Foundation Founder Cindy Donald and Braves Manager Fredi Gonzalez at Champion Stadium, the Braves' spring-training home in Kissimmee, Florida.

Through Cindy's Walks for Recovery, Braves fans across the country can help Marietta resident Cindy Donald accomplish her dream of making a lasting difference in the lives of those suffering from spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. They can donate a dollar amount of their choosing for each base on balls drawn by a Braves batter during the 2014 season

"The Walks for Recovery program has allowed us to help so many people across the country who are affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries," said Cindy Donald. "We are so blessed that Fredi and the Braves have made a second season possible. Words cannot adequately describe the impact of the support of the Atlanta Braves organization."

Said Braves Manager Fredi Gonzalez: "Cindy's Walks for Recovery program proved to be a great way for our fans to become a part of Cindy's mission to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries."

The tax-deductible donations - as little as 10 cents per walk for individuals and $10.00 per walk for corporate partners - will allow the Cindy Donald Dreams of Recovery Foundation to provide financial grants to a waiting list of individuals to participate in approved therapy programs which are not covered by insurance as well as to purchase necessary equipment to improve daily life.

In 2008, while still undergoing her own grueling physical therapy after a tragic accident in 2005 left her paralyzed from the neck down, Cindy - with the help of family, friends and area residents that she didn't even know at the time of her accident - established the "Cindy Donald Dreams of Recovery Foundation" with the simple philosophy that "helping others is the best therapy."

Fans can participate in Cindy's Walks for Recovery this season by texting W-A-L-K-S to 51555, by visiting www.walksforrecovery.org or by calling (770) 675-6565.
