Braves Name Horacio Ramirez to Coaching Position
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager Frank Wren announced today that former Major League pitcher Horacio Ramirez will join the staff as a coaching assistant.
Ramirez, 34, will manage the Braves' instant replay protocol and will also assist the Braves coaching staff with pregame on-field duties at all home and road games.
Ramirez owns a career pitching record of 40-35 with a 4.65 ERA over eight Major League seasons, including four with the Braves (2003-06). His career was highlighted by a 12-4 rookie campaign in 2003 with the Braves while posting a 4.00 ERA over 29 starts. Ramirez finished his career in 2011 with the Los Angeles Angels after also making appearances with the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox.
