Royals sign veteran reliever Ramon Troncoso to Minor League deal

The Kansas City Royals announced today they have signed right-handed relief pitcher Ramon Troncoso to a minor league contract. The signing does not carry an invitation to Major League spring training.

 Troncoso, 31, made 29 appearances out of the White Sox bullpen last season, going 1-4 with a 4.50 ERA (15 ER in 30.0 IP). Prior to his stint with Chicago, he spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2008-11), where he was 8-8 with a 3.92 ERA (86 ER in 197.1 IP) in 175 outings. He made a career-best 73 appearances for the Dodgers in 2009, helping the team win the National League West.
