White Sox announce opening series activities

Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the opening home series vs. Minnesota. Tickets for all three games of the series are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Monday and Wednesday's game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, while WGN-TV will broadcast Thursday's game. All three games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Monday, March 31, 3:10 p.m. vs. Minnesota

  • White Sox Magnetic Schedule presented by Miller Lite (all fans ages 21 and over)
  • National Anthem by Gina Glocksen, former American Idol contestant
  • Presentation of the flag by the Navy Recruiting District Chicago and the Naval Service Training Command Great Lakes
  • Ceremonial first pitch by 2014 Olympic bobsled bronze medalist and South Side Chicago native, Aja Evans

Gina Glocksen was the ninth place finalist on the mega-hit television show American Idol's sixth season. The Tinley Park native is performing the National Anthem.

Aja Evans , 2014 Olympic bobsled bronze medalist, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. She is a south side Chicago native who had an overall bobsled time of 3:51.61 at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. She is currently training to compete in the heptathlon for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Aja is a cousin of Del Matthews, White Sox assistant director of player development and scouting.

Wednesday, April 2, 1:10 p.m. vs. Minnesota

  • National Anthem by Amanda Schnoebelen
  • Ceremonial first pitch by Doc Shaw, actor

Amanda Schnoebelen , White Sox employee from Chicago, will perform the National Anthem.

Doc Shaw , who played "Malik" for eight seasons on the TBS hit sitcom "House of Payne" and is starring in the upcoming blockbuster "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," will throw out a ceremonial first pitch

Thursday, April 3, 1:10 p.m. vs. Minnesota

  • National Anthem by Misericordia's Heartzinger Choir

The Heartzinger Choir from Misericordia Heart of Mercy will perform the National Anthem. Misericordia is an agency that supports over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities from a variety of socio-economic, racial and religious backgrounds in the greater Chicago community.
