Home away from home - the "Hank House" to debut at Miller Park tomorrow

MILWAUKEE - Hank, the "Ballpark Pup," is getting a home at Miller Park. The "Hank House," a roomy, one bedroom Cape Cod-style dwelling, will debut tomorrow as the Brewers open a six-game homestand against the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m.

The "Hank House" will be positioned at "The Point" in centerfield for the first game and as a mobile home, it will move around the ballpark throughout the season. When Hank is at Miller Park, it will be his home and used for photo opportunities and appearances.

Hank first appeared at camp on February 17, the day of the first workout for pitchers and catchers. The Brewers have worked closely with the Arizona and Wisconsin Humane Societies since that first day, and their staff provided counsel on how best to care for Hank's basic needs as he adjusted to his new surroundings.

Hank made frequent appearances at Spring Training games in a concourse booth, where fans lined up for an opportunity to have their photo taken with Hank in exchange for a voluntary donation to the Humane Society.

The "Ballpark Pup" arrived in Milwaukee on March 16 on a Southwest Airlines charter flight and made his Miller Park debut in late March as merchandise bearing his image was released at the Brewers Team Store by Majestic. Twenty-percent of sales of Hank merchandise will be donated back to the Wisconsin Humane Society's "Hank Fund."

The Brewers also announced a "BobbleHank" game at Miller Park on Saturday, September 13 where all fans will receive a bobblehead featuring Hank. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the game will also go to the "Hank Fund."
