Upcoming homestand to feature several fan attractions at Minute Maid Park

Includes Castro Bobblehead Giveaway, Astros Dog Day, Dollar Hot Dog Thursday and Big & Bright Friday Nights

HOUSTON, TX - The Astros' upcoming nine-game homestand vs. the Oakland A's, Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners (April 24 - May 4) promises several fan attractions.

Thursday, April 24 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Oakland

Every Thursday home game this season is a Dollar Hot Dog Thursday, where fans can purchase an unlimited number of Nolan Ryan Beef hot dogs at $1.00 each while supplies last (limit of four per person per concession visit).  

Friday, April 25 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Oakland

The excitement continues as Big and Bright Friday Nights return with a postgame fireworks show, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation, following Friday night's game vs. the A's. This week's show includes a special music video featuring everyone's favorite furry alien, Orbit, and a "Boy Band" themed fireworks display.

Additionally, 10,000 Astros fans will take home an Astros golf umbrella, presented by H-E-B.

Every Friday from 4:30-6:00pm is St. Arnold Happy Hour, featuring $5, 12-ounce beers at the St. Arnold's Bar in left field.

Saturday, April 26 - 6:10 p.m. vs. Oakland

The first bobblehead giveaway of the 2014 season will feature 2013 All-Star catcher and team MVP, Jason Castro. The ever-popular memento, presented by Xfinity, will be given to 10,000 fans before the Astros take on Oakland in the third game of the series.

Sunday, April 27 - 1:10 p.m. vs. Oakland

Bring your favorite furry friend down to Minute Maid Park on Sunday for the Astros annual Dog Day celebration. Fans are welcome to bring their dogs* to the ballpark where they can enjoy a pregame pooch parade around the warning track, a doggie costume contest and a vendor fair in Home Run Alley and the Dog Zone. Fans can also take home a pet of their very own at the pet adoption centers in the Dog Zone. The first 500 fans with a Dog Day ticket to enter the Dog Zone will receive a pet bowl mat giveaway.

*Fans must purchase a special Dog Day ticket, available on Sunday at the Left Field Gate. All dogs must have proper vaccinations and tags. For more information and complete details, visit www.astros.com/dogday.

Tuesday, April 29 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Washington

Tuesday, April 29 marks the first day of the 2014 All-Star in-stadium voting. Astros fans can come down to Phillips 66 Home Run Alley in Minute Maid Park to cast their votes for their favorite players, including 2012 All-Star Jose Altuve and 2013 All-Star Jason Castro. Voting begins on the 29th and continues through Sunday, June 15. Prizes will be available at various levels in the voting process, so vote early and vote often, Astros fans!

Friday, May 2 - 7:10 p.m. vs. Seattle

Friday, May 2 marks the second Big and Bright Friday Night of the homestand, which will feature a symphony themed postgame fireworks show, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation.

Saturday, May 3 - 3:10 p.m. vs. Seattle

Join the Astros for a Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 3 before they take on the Seattle Mariners at 3:10pm. The Cinco de Mayo Street Festival, presented by Goya, will be open to all fans from 12:00-3:00pm on the Plaza on Crawford Street and will feature authentic Mexican cuisine, a live Mariachi band and activities for all ages. The Astros will be wearing their Los Astros jerseys on the field, and 10,000 fans will take home a Los Astros t-shirt, courtesy of Goya.
