Marlins to host nine-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets

MIAMI -The Miami Marlins begin their third homestand of the 2014 campaign on Tuesday, April 29, with a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves. Then the Marlins begin a three-game, weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, May 2, and wrap up the homestand with a three-game set against the New York Mets, beginning on Monday, May 5.

The homestand begins with Jose Fernandez as the probable starter for tomorrow's game against the Atlanta Braves, which means sections 29-32 on the Promenade level will be the "Jose's Heroes" fan zone. Fans who purchased this package will receive one Jose's Heroes T-shirt per month throughout the season to wear during a Fernandez start, one "K card" per game to cheer on Jose with every strikeout and one Meet and Greet opportunity with Jose in 2014. Fans are encouraged to make signs, dress up as their favorite heroes and create a wild and crazy energetic fan atmosphere in this area at the left field porch.

The Marlins will be celebrating Eagle Scout Alumni Night and Nurses Appreciation Night on Saturday, May 3. The Marlins have teamed up with the South Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America for the inaugural Eagle Scout Alumni Night; tickets are just $10. The night features a pregame, on-field ceremony honoring the Eagle Scout Alumni. Also, the Marlins are proud to honor nurses from South Florida on the field with a pregame parade. Nurses can choose between ballpark seating ($40 for Home Plate Box and $20 for Baseline Reserved) that includes a $10 concession credit or Happy Hour at the Clevelander ($40 for reserved seat and $20 for standing room only ticket) with a complimentary domestic beer.

The homestand features a giveaway on Sunday, May 4, as the first 5,000 kids ages 12 and under will receive a Henderson Alvarez No-Hitter Kids Photoball courtesy of Leon Medical Center. In addition to the giveaway, fans will have a chance to get autographs from a Marlins player inside the New Era Team Store from 6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. on both Fireworks Friday and Saturday Spectacular. Family Sunday offers fans the chance to take a picture with a Marlins player as part of Selfie Sunday. After the game, all kids can run the bases in the Diamond Dash.
