D-backs recall Inciarte from Triple-A Reno, option Kieschnick to Reno

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) recalled outfielder Ender Inciarte (@EnderDavid18) from Triple-A Reno and optioned outfielder Roger Kieschnick to Reno, according to D-backs Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Inciarte, 23, will wear No. 5 in his first stint with the D-backs (second in the Majors) having been tabbed by Baseball America as the D-backs' "Fastest Baserunner" and "Best Outfield Arm" in their 2014 Best Tools Survey. In 2013, he made the Philadelphia Phillies' Opening Day roster after being a 2012 Rule 5 Draft selection but did not appear in a game and was returned to the D-backs on April 4.

He went 1-for-5 for the Aces in last night's 7-5 win @ Las Vegas to extend his hitting streak to 8 games (.364, 12-for-33).

Inciarte, who was born in Maracaibo, is the fifth Venezuelan on the current roster along with players Miguel Montero, Gerardo Parra and Martin Prado and coach Henry Blanco. Other Venezuelans to play/manage/coach for the D-backs include manager/coach Al Pedrique and players Alex Cabrera, Alberto Callaspo, Omar Daal, Armando Galarraga, Enrique Gonzalez, Juan (J.C.) Gutierrez, Jorge Julio, Wil Ledezma, Melvin Mora, Yusmeiro Petit and Alex Romero.

Over parts of 7 seasons in the D-backs system, Inciarte (bats left, throws left) has batted .284 (642-for-2,262) with 350 runs scored, 102 doubles, 28 triples, 12 homers, 172 RBI and 161 stolen bases (213 attempts). He was signed by Miguel Nava as a Minor League free agent on May 25, 2008.

Kieschnick, 27, appeared in 4 games for the D-backs (0-for-7) after being recalled on April 24. He was claimed by the D-backs off waivers from the San Francisco Giants on April 4. In 18 games for Reno, he has batted .281 (18-for-64) with 5 doubles, 3 home runs and 8 RBI.
