RHP Erasmo Ramirez recalled from AAA Tacoma
Ramirez will start game two of today's doubleheader in Oakland
Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced that right-hander Erasmo Ramirez has been recalled from AAA Tacoma today.
Ramirez (#50) is the scheduled starter for the second game of today's doubleheader vs. Oakland at O.co Coliseum and will be the 26th man on the roster for the doubleheader (according to MLB rules).
Ramirez, 24, is 1-3 with a 6.75 ERA (18 ER, 24.0 IP) in 5 starts this season. After earning the win in the Mariners second game of the season vs. the Los Angeles Angels, Ramirez was 0-3 with a 8.47 ERA (16 ER, 17.0 IP) over his last 4 starts.
Ramirez made two starts in the minors after being optioned on April 23. He started for High-A High Desert on April 27, before being transferred to AAA Tacoma and starting on May 2 against Las Vegas. In those two outings he combined to post a 4.63 ERA (6 ER, 11.1 IP) with 15 strikeouts.
