Statement from general manager Josh Byrnes

SAN DIEGO - San Diego Padres Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes issued the following statement today regarding the results of an MRI performed on right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner: 

"After performing an MRI today on Andrew's right elbow, our doctors have indicated to me that he has elbow soreness and irritation," said Byrnes. "Based on our doctors' recommendation we will be proceeding with rest and rehabilitation for his recovery."
