Brewers to make three selections on Day 1 of 2014 MLB Draft Thursday

Brewers Own Selections #12 (First Round), #41 (Competitive Balance Round A) and #50 (Second Round)

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers will make three selections on Day 1 of the First-Year Player Draft, which begins Thursday evening at 6 p.m. CT. The team's first pick will be at #12 in the first round. They will also make a selections at #41 (Competitive Balance Round A) and #50 (second round). The Brewers are one of five teams that have three picks in the top 50 overall selections. 
 
The First-Year Player Draft spans three days of activity from Thursday through Saturday, and will take place at the MLB Network Studio 42 in Secaucus, New Jersey. Draft coverage will begin live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 6 p.m. CT Thursday. The Brewers' first selection (#12) will take place at approximately 7:02 p.m. CT, pick #41 will take place at approximately 9:15 p.m. CT and pick #50 will take place at approximately 9:31 p.m.
 
Representing the Brewers at the MLB Network Studio will be former Brewers All-Star Greg Vaughn and Director - Minor League Baseball Operations Scott Martens.
 
The Brewers have selected 12th overall three other times in team history: 2011, RHP Taylor Jungmann; 2001, RHP Michael Jones and 1992, OF Kenny Felder. Other notable 12th overall picks include Jemile Weeks in 2008, Jay Bruce in 2005, Jered Weaver in 2004, Adam Everett in 1998, Nomar Garciaparra in 1994 and Kirk Gibson in 1978.
 
The selection rotation is determined by the clubs' reverse order of finish at the close of the previous championship season. The Draft, which is comprised of 40 rounds, will continue on Friday at noon CT for Rounds 3-10. The Draft will resume on Saturday for Rounds 11-40 at noon CT and will continue through its conclusion.
