Rockies place LHP Boone Logan on 15-day DL

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has placed left-handed pitcher Boone Logan on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation. A corresponding move will be announced at a later time.

Logan, 29, has gone 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA (15.1 ip, 10 er), 6 walks and 22 strikeouts in his first season with Colorado after signing a three-year deal on December 16, 2013. His 12.91 strikeouts per 9.0 innings is the 3rd highest mark for National League relievers. A veteran of nine Major League seasons, he has seen time with the Rockies, New York Yankees (2010-13), Atlanta (2009) and the Chicago White Sox (2006-08). Over 441 career Major League games, all in relief, the 6-foot-5 left-hander is 25-13 with 2 saves and a 4.46 ERA (319.0 ip, 158 er), 138 walks and 326 strikeouts.

The Rockies currently have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
