Twins place Hicks on 15-day disabled list

Recall catcher Eric Fryer, Return Fuld from rehab and reinstate from DL

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 10) with a right shoulder strain. Hicks injured his shoulder diving for a ball in center field June 7 vs. Houston.

To fill the vacancies of Hicks and Pinto (optioned Wednesday) on the 25-man roster, the Twins have returned outfielder Sam Fuld from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and recalled catcher Eric Fryer from Triple-A Rochester.

Fuld was originally placed on the 7-day disabled list May 8 with concussion-like symptoms, missing the Twins last 32 games. He played four games with Double-A New Britain on rehab assignment, going 6-for-14 (.429) with two doubles and a home run. Fryer has played in 36 games for Triple-A Rochester, hitting .252 (28-for-111) with seven doubles and 11 RBI.

Both Fuld and Fryer will be in uniform for tonight's game in Detroit, Fryer will wear uniform number 26.
