Player - INF, Derek Campbell, Williamsport … 6 G … Batted .478 (11-23), .520 OBP, .870 SLG %, 2 R, 6 2B, HR, 4 RBI, BB … Campbell, selected in the 20th round of last month's draft, is honored as Phillies Minor League Player of the Week for the first in his professional career … 11 of his 25 hits this season have gone for extra bases as he hit his first pro HR 8/6 vs AUB … Selected out of UC Berkley, Campbell was signed by Joey Davis.
Pitcher - RHP, Mitch Gueller, Williamsport ... 1 G, 1-0, 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 7.0 IP), 0 BB, 4 H, 5 SO … Gueller earns Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week honors for the 1st time in his career … The 6-foot-3 right hander threw a 7-inning complete game shutout in game 1 of a double header on the 4th of July. It was Gueller's second win of the season (other: 6/28 at SC) … The 20-year-old native of Centralia, WAS., was selected by the Phillies between the 1st and 2nd rounds (54th overall) of the 2012 draft and signed by Rick Jacques.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division… 43-46, 5th place… 4-2 for the week … OF Leandro Castro had a PHI minor league system-best 11 hits this week as he batted .367, 2 2B, HR … Castro had an 8 game hitting streak snapped on Sunday, over the course of the streak he had 4 consecutive multi-hit games and a walk-off hit in extras … Castro ended the week batting .296 over his last 44 games … 3B/1B Maikel Franco had 9 hits (.762 SLG, 2 2B, 3B, HR) in just 4 games played … OF Grady Sizemore totaled 6 hits which included his first HR with LV … Sizemore hit safely in each of his first 7 games with the IronPigs … INF Russ Canzler hit .429 (9-21), 2 2B, 3 HR … Canzler knocked in 6 runs and put up a 1.452 OPS in 5 games … 1B Jim Murphy hit .316 and belted his 10th HR of the season … RHP Jason Marquis tossed 7.0 shutout innings in his only start … Marquis allowed just 2 walks and struck out 6 … Over his first 2 starts in Lehigh Valley, Marquis allowed 1 ER in 13.0 IP, 13 SO, 3 BB … RHP Sean O'Sullivan struck out 7 batters and allowed only 1 ER in his only start … LHP Jeremy Horst picked up 2 wins in relief … Horst tossed 4.0 innings in Lehigh Valley's 16.0 inning marathon win over Rochester on Saturday … All totaled, Horst went 2-0 with 5 strikeouts and 0 walks in 6.0 innings of relief for LV this week … LHP Cesar Jimenez threw 2.0 scoreless innings as he struck out 4 … Jimenez posed a 1.58 ERA over his first 28 games with LV.

Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division… First Half - 17-51, 6th place… Second Half - 5-10, 5th place…1-3 for the week … INF Angelo Mora hit .545 (6-11), 2B, 3B … CF Roman Quinn hit .313 in 4 G as he scored 3 R, knocked in 4 and belted his second HR of the season … 1B Art Charles and POM OF Brian Pointer each went deep for CLR this week … RHP Aaron Nola made his 2nd professional start as he tossed 4.0 scoreless innings allowing only 1 hit as he struck out 3 … RHP Jordan Guth made his first start of the year for CLR and allowed only 1 run over 4.0 innings … LHP Cody Forsythe struck out 2 over 2.0 hitless IP of relief … Forsythe has only allowed a single run over his first 4 appearances with Clearwater.
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League North Division - First Half - 27-42, 6th place… Second Half - 6-12, 7h place… 4-3 for the week … OF Carlos Tocci led LWD with 10 hits which included 2 2B, 3B … C Willians Astudillo batted .368 (7-19), 3 2B … Astudillo ended the week with 20 doubles on the season and a .317 average ... 3B/1B Zach Green hit .333 (9-27) as he belted his 4th HR of the season … C Andrew Knapp batted .308 (8-26), 3B, 2 HR … OF Dylan Cozens totaled 8 hits 2 of which were HR … Cozens also swiped 3 bags and he ended the week leading LWD in both HR (11) and SB (15) for the season … 2B Andrew Pullin totaled 8 hits and ended the week hitting safely in 18 of 19 games … RHP Yacksel Rios went 2-0, 1.80 ERA (3 ER, 15.0 IP) as he allowed just 6 hits, posting a 0.60 WHIP and holding opposing batters to a .125 average … Temple product RHP Matt Hockenberry appeared in 2 games for CLR and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings … Hockenberry converted his first save opportunity with LWD, 7/1 vs HAG … Player of the month RHP Ulises Joaquin allowed just 2 hits over 4.0 innings as he struck out 4 and picked up a SV, Joaquin has not allowed a run since 5/27 (18 IP) … RHP Will Morris tossed 5.1 innings of scoreless relief striking out 3 batters without allowing a walk … Morris ended the week with a 0.98 ERA, 18 strikeouts and only 1 walk over 18.1 innings since his promotion to LWD … RHP Tyler Viza picked up the win in his only start as he allowed 1 ER over 6.0 innings … LHP Scott Harris, taken in the 27th round of this year's draft, picked up his first win as a professional, 6/30 at WV … Harris struck out 6 over 4.1 innings in the win.
Williamsport Crosscutters- New York-Penn League … 7-9, T-4thplace … 5-2 for the week … 20th round pick and POW INF Derek Campbell hit .478 (11-23) including 6 2B and his first professional HR, he had a 1.390 OPS in his 6 games this week … OF Jiandano Tromp hit .320 including 2 HR, 2 2B and went 3-3 stealing bases this week, he is hitting .295 with 6 HR, 6 2B and 7 SB over his first 20 G with Williamsport … SS Emmanuel Marrero hit .364 (8-22) on the week including 2 2B and 2 SB, the 2014 7th round pick is hitting .310 after his first 16 professional games … OF Cord Sandberg hit .375 (6-16) including his 3rd HR on the season, Sandberg also went 2-2 in SB attempts this week … 3rd round pick OF Aaron brown hit .333 (9-27) on the week and stole 4 bases, Brown is hitting .303 with 5 SB after his first 17 professional games played … 10th round pick OF Matt SHorthall hit 2 HR this week … the POW RHP Mitch Gueller had his best start of the year, pitching a complete game shutout in game 1 of a DH on the 4th of July, he allowed just 4 H and struck out 5 over 7 scoreless innings … RHP Frank Rivas struck out 6 in 4.1 relief innings this week … RHP Bryan Sova picked up his first save as a professional this week, he pitched 2.2 scoreless innings … Sova has yet to allow an ER over his first 6 appearances … LHP Joey Denato picked up his first professional win and had two scoreless appearances this week … during RHP Preston Packrall 5.0 innings of work he gave up just 2 hits and one unearned run to earn his first win as a professional.
