Fireworks and Sunday Kids Day Highlight Pirates Eighth Homestand

The Pirates return to PNC Park for the first homestand following the All-Star Break to host the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers. This homestand will be highlighted by the first Friday Night Block Party of the second half of the season on July 18; Saturday night fireworks on July 19 and the Gregory Polanco kids player poster on Sunday's Kids Day.


Friday, July 18, 2014 - Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies (7:05 p.m.)
• Friday Block Party: Tonight is another Friday Block Party on Federal Street. Fans will enjoy live music, featuring Switch, and can party on the street with food and beer sales. Pirates alumni Rennie Stennett will be the special guest bartender at the Budweiser Bar that will be located on Federal Street.
• All Stars: Today the Pirates will recognize their 2014 All-Stars representatives during a special pregame ceremony. Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle was chosen by Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny as a member of the National League All Star staff along with the Bucs assistant athletic trainer Ben Potenziano. Reigning NL MVP Andrew McCutchen became the first Pirates player in the All Star starting lineup since Jason Bay in 2006, and joining him on the field are teammates and 2014 All Stars Josh Harrison and Tony Watson.
• Pirates PNC Bank Debit Card Game: As part of the many fan-friendly values at PNC Park, tonight is a Pirates PNC Bank Debit Card game. • Free Shirt Friday: The Pirates popular Free Shirt Friday continues as the first 25,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a Pirates tee, presented by Mrs. T's Pierogies.

Saturday, July 19, 2014 - Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies (7:05 p.m.)
• Epilepsy Family Fun Run/Walk- Today's Epilepsy Family Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. and begins and ends outside PNC Park on Federal Street. The kickoff of the event will include an appearance by the Pirate Parrot along with Pirates reliever Jared Hughes.
• Meet Walker: Today from noon to 1 p.m. Pirates second baseman Neil Walker will be greeting fans and signing autographs at the Pine Township PNC Bank (11970 Perry Highway, Wexford, PA 15090).
• Hey JHay: Pirates All Star Josh Harrison will be signing free autographs and meeting fans from noon to 1 p.m. at the McKnight Road & Patrick Place T-Mobile (7372 McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237).
• Saturday Block Party: Today is a Saturday Block Party as fans will enjoy food and beer sales on Federal Street as Pirates alumni Rennie Stennett will be the special guest bartender at the Budweiser Bar.
• Zambelli Fireworks Night: Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats immediately following the game and enjoy an amazing fireworks display presented by Zambelli Fireworks International, courtesy of 84 Lumber.

Sunday, July 20, 2014 - Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies (1:35 p.m.) Kids Day
• Kids Day: Come down early and join the fun as the #1 Cochran Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lined up outside PNC Park will be inflatable rides, face painting, information about the Bucaroos Kids Club, presented by Chick-fil-A and more.
• Kids Run the Bases: Kids attending today's game are invited to stick around after to run the bases on the field at PNC Park with the Kids Run the Bases, presented by Kennywood.
• Stitch and Pitch: Today is the ninth annual Stitch N' Pitch Day at PNC Park. Fans are encouraged to bring their knitting, stitching, quilting or other fiber arts projects to the game. There will be opportunities to take a lesson, learn a technique and meet other enthusiasts all while enjoying Pirates Baseball. Everyone who participates will receive a Stitch N' Pitch recyclable tote bag filled with goodies! • VIP Day: Pirates and Pirates Charities Chairman Bob Nutting will host a VIP (Very Important Pirate) Party for the Miracle League of the South Hills. The group will be special guests of Mr. Nutting and will have the opportunity to enjoy the afternoon's game from the Pirates Charities Suite. Mr. Nutting will host a VIP Party each month during the season in order to provide deserving children with a night at the ballpark in true VIP-style, complete with a private meet-and-greet with Pirates players and coaches, a Pirates replica jersey and VIP goodie bag for each child. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a pregame ceremony and enjoy a great ballpark menu items provided by Levy Restaurants through their Levy Cares program.
• Kids Player Poster: Kids 14 and younger will receive a Gregory Polanco poster, presented by Cottonelle, Viva, and Giant Eagle.

• PLAY Clinic: Today at 10 a.m. the Pittsburgh Pirates training staff is hosting a FREE sports educational workshop called PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) for pre-registered youth athletes ages 11 to 16, at PNC Park. PLAY is a program sponsored by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society, The Taylor Hooton Foundation, and Major League Baseball Charities. The initiative seeks to capitalize on the unique platform of Major League Baseball and all of its teams and players to help fight steroid abuse and to educate the young people of America about the dangers of steroids, as well as promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
• Paint Monkey: Join the Pirates as they partner with Paint Monkey on Monday nights throughout the season, to create a Pirates masterpiece. Enjoy a pre-game painting session (canvases are pre-sketched) on the Pirates deck and stay for the game afterwards. Collect all four paintings! Tuesday, July 22, 2014 - Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:05 p.m.)
• Buses for Baseball: The Players Trust's "Buses for Baseball" program provides thousands of disadvantaged youth with an unforgettable trip to a Major League Baseball game. For many on the trip, it is their first visit to a Big League ballpark. The Pirates will welcome their 2014 Buses for Baseball group and provide the group with the opportunity to view Pirates batting practice and meet with some of their favorite players and coaches before enjoying the game.
• Melancon in the Community: Today Pirates reliever Mark Melancon will visit with youth at the Sarah Heinz House from noon to 1 p.m. during the Sarah Heinz Summer Camp.
• Make-A-Wish: This afternoon the Pirates and All Star Andrew McCutchen, in partnership with Make-A-Wish, will welcome Matthew to PNC Park. Matthew is a 12 year-old boy from Colorado Springs, Co., who has been diagnosed with germinoma and his wish is to meet and have lunch in centerfield with his hero, McCutchen.
• Pups in the Park: Fans can enjoy Bucco baseball with their pooch as the Pirates present Pup Nights at PNC Park. Each ticket package (1 person & 1 dog) costs just $28 with additional human tickets available for $28 each. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:05 p.m.)
• Dental and Vision Screenings: Today starting at 11 a.m. the Pirates along with Levy, VisionWorks and United Concordia Dental in partnership with Tickets for Kids will host a free vision and dental screening for more than 150 youth in the PNC Picnic Park area. Tickets for Kids are a non-profit organization whose goal is to offer admission to Pittsburgh area events to those for whom cost of admission is prohibitive.
• Disability Awareness Celebration: Tonight is one of three Disability Awareness Nights at PNC Park. The Pirates would like to invite fans to PNC Park, as they bring people with all types of disabilities together for a Disability Awareness Celebration. The Pirates and Pirates Charities will host Stand Up 2 Cancer Night at PNC Park on Friday, August 8 vs. the San Diego Padres. Ticket packages for the promotion are $50 with $10 from every package sold going directly to the Stand Up 2 Cancer fund. Participants will be seated in the Upper Bleacher Reserved section of PNC Park and at a designated time during the game will have the opportunity to stand up in support of a loved one affected by cancer. On this special night, ALL FANS will receive cheer cards, provided by Trib Total Media, so that they can stand up and show support for their loved ones affected by cancer. Ticket packages include: one ticket in the "SU2C section," a complimentary Stand Up 2 Cancer cap, entry into the "Stand Up 2 Cancer with the Pirates" raffle and more. Big League Championships at PNC Park
Tuesday, July 29 the Pirates will host the Citiparks Pittsburgh Big League Championships at PNC Park for Pony, Colt and Super Colt leagues. Special seating for fans will be provided with concession stands and bathrooms open both days in the respective areas. The PNC Park scoreboard will be on for all games and players will be posted for all to see. The schedule for games is as follows:

  • 4 p.m. Pony League
  • 6 p.m. Colt League
  • 8 p.m. Super Colt


Military Ticket Discount

College Student Discount
For select games during the 2014 season, students with a valid college email address will receive a special discount off the advance ticket price of select games. To receive the code, college students may simply fill out the form at pirates.com/student. Each code is valid for up to fourteen tickets.

Dynamic Pricing Section
The Pirates popular dynamic pricing system is back in 2014 and includes both the Bleacher Reserve and Upper Bleacher Reserve sections of PNC Park. Tickets for the 2,400 seats, located in left field, will be placed on sale 10-days prior to each home game. The initial ticket price will then be adjusted- both lower and higher- in real time, based on several factors.
