First-place Dodgers take on the Atlanta Braves in a three-game series starting tomorrow

LOS ANGELES - The first-place Dodgers' eighth homestand of the season begins tomorrow with a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves: tomorrow, Tuesday, July 29 at 7:10 p.m. (RHP Josh Beckett vs. RHP Aaron Harang), Wednesday, July 30 at 7:10 p.m. (RHP Zack Greinke vs. LHP Alex Wood) and Thursday, July 31 at 7:10 p.m. (LHP Clayton Kershaw vs. RHP Julio Teheran). All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday.

Dodger Alumni League member Tim Leary will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Billy Ashley will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A DJ will provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza.

The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class Gabriel Bocanegra. He enlisted in 1994 and immediately following boot camp was sent to train as a Hospital Corpsman learning preventive and Navy Environmental medicine. He is currently serving at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego providing care for sick and wounded sailors and marines. He has served nine deployments including Afghanistan and a tour in Iraq. Bocanegra's accolades include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement and Commendation medals.

As part of Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball, 250 youngsters from A Place Called Home, Athletes vs. Cancer and Operation Progress will be in attendance. A Place Called Home is located in South Central LA and provides at-risk youth with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief, earn trust and self-respect. Athletes vs. Cancer is NBA Star Matt Barnes' non-profit organization that unites athletes, celebrities and the community together in the fight to save lives against cancer. Operation Progress is a LAPD mentoring program in Watts in which Southeast Division officers work with the city's most at-risk youth in the South Central LA community. Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball provides Los Angeles area inner-city youth with a Dodger game experience courtesy of the Dodgers. LPGA champion and Pasadena native Mo Martin will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Martin won the Women's British Open two weeks ago. Erika Makiko Olsen, 2011 Nisei Week Queen and vocal artist will perform the national anthem.

Dodger Alumni League member Tommy Davis will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Dennis Powell will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A DJ will provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza.

Wednesday is also Japan Night at Dodger Stadium. An origami workshop will be offered in the right-field pavilion plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Nisei Week Court, Nisei Week queen and princesses, will make an appearance in the right-field pavilion plaza from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. and will also be introduced as part of pregame ceremonies. Nisei Week Japanese Festival takes place August 9-17 in Little Tokyo, downtown LA. Pom Pom Girls and LA Matsuri Taiko will also perform pregame. Dr. Greg Kimura, president and CEO of the Japanese American National Museum, will also be introduced as part of pre-game ceremonies.

For Japan Night, Levy Restaurants will offer a special extreme loaded dog, the Teriyaki Dog, an all-beef hot dog topped with Japanese mayo, Teriyaki sauce, caramelized onions, and nori seaweed. It will be available Wednesday at extreme loaded dog concession stands on the Field, Loge and Reserve levels. Levy Restaurants also always offers Sushi in Field section five, Healthy Cart Loge section 106 and Healthy Cart Reserve section 6. Japanese beer sponsor Sopporo Beer is offered in Field sections 30, 31, 47 and 48, Loge sections 140, 145 and 131, Reserve sections 10 and 11 and Top Deck section 5. Kirin Frozen Beer is offered in Field section 5, at the ITFDB Bar, Blue Heaven Bar and Loge sections 166 and 167.

The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Navy Petty Officer First Class Steven De Avila. De Avila enlisted in 2001 and served with three other squadrons prior to being assigned to the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 75 based in San Diego. As the lead Petty Officer of Aviation Mechanic and the squadron's head mechanic he is in charge of ensuring the maintenance on 11 MH-6oR Helicopters. He has been deployed to the Middle East and the Persian Gulf on 3 occasions in addition to tours in Japan and the Pacific Rim. His accolades include five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Iraqi Campaign Medal and a battle Efficiency Medal.

Wednesday, July 30

The Dodgers take on the Braves at 7:10 p.m. Thursday. All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m. The first 50,000 fans in attendance will receive an Original 30 HR Club Bobblehead (Baker, Cey, Garvey, Smith) presented by Security Benefit. In 1977, the Dodgers became the first team in MLB history to have four 30 home run hitters. That quartet consisted of Steve Garvey (33), Reggie Smith (32), Ron Cey (30) and Dusty Baker (30).

Members of the 30 HR club Ron Cey and Reggie Smith will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Interscope Recording artist and LA native Jasmin V will perform the national anthem.

Dodger Alumni League member Matt Luke will sign autographs in the right-field pavilion plaza and Alumni Leaguer Derrel Thomas will sign autographs in the left-field pavilion plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A DJ will also provide musical entertainment in the right-field pavilion plaza.

The Veteran of the Game presented by Bank of America is U.S. Army National Guard Sergeant First Class Daniel Acuna, who enlisted in 2002. He currently serves with HHB 1-144 FA as a Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems Specialist and a Firefinder Radar Operator. His deployments include Kandahar, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Acuna's accolades include the Bronze Star, Nato Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) is holding an auction now through July 31 for a Cy Young Award Winner Clayton Kershaw autographed no-hitter game-used baseball and Dodger Stadium Experience. The opening bid is $10,000. Fans can bid on a one-of-a-kind experience to include a Kershaw autographed game-used baseball from his no-hitter game, which is his first no-hitter and the 22nd no-hitter in Dodger History, including a certificate of authenticity from LADF signed by Kershaw. The winner and three friends will get to watch Dodger batting practice on a pre-selected and mutually agreeable date, take a photo with Kershaw with photos printed and autographed to the winner and each guest by Kershaw, four Dugout Club game tickets and a signed 30x20 mounted canvas by team photographer Jon Soo Hoo capturing Kershaw's last out in the no-hitter. The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation 5K Run and Kids Fun Run presented by your SoCal Honda Dealers will be held on September 21 at Dodger Stadium. The 5K registration for the LADF 5K Run and Kids Fun Run is now open online at www.dodgers.com/5K. Fans can register for the 5K Run for just $45 and just $25 for the Kids Fun Run. 5K Run registration fee increases to $50 on August 1. The 5K Run course includes views of Dodger Stadium, downtown Los Angeles, a cool-down run around the Dodger Stadium warning track and appearances by Dodger Alumni League members. The Kids Fun Run will take place on the Dodger Stadium warning track. Awards will be given to top participants in male and female categories. Each LADF 5K Run and Kids Fun Run participant will receive a Dodger tech shirt and medal. All proceeds will benefit LADF and its programs in sports and recreation, education and literacy and health and wellness which help children and families throughout the greater Los Angeles region.

The Dodgers' auto gates are open 2.5 hours before game time and the stadium gates are open two hours before the scheduled first pitch. Fans taking advantage of this early arrival time can enjoy various family-friendly activities as soon as gates open throughout Dodger Stadium, including in the newly enhanced right and left-field pavilion plazas which feature the Budweiser and Bud Light bullpen overlook bars and the new Tommy Lasorda Trattoria and the Think Blue BBQ.
